  1. I'm not sure how NRW works. I'd just call your woodland officer and get them out and discuss what you want to do. I'd be confident of getting the felling license as it will need to be felled eventually. They will also be able to inform you of any grants available for management and the following establishment works. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  2. Possibly a regional thing. The last stand of larch/df standing I heard the for prices went for £19t. If you're in a region where it's being hammered I guess it would be a pretty crappy market. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  3. It will become infected , be under no illusion. If you can get a felling licence for a clear fell before the site gets a phn then clear it, re stock and start again. Though if available I'd look for a broard leaf site. Cost wise, if you can I'd sell it standing, it'll save you a heap of hassle. Depending on the outcome of tcd's recommendations I think you'd get between £15-25t standing. Best of luck. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  4. Don't work for him or find a way to cover it. Maybe he changed his mind. It is his work so he's fully entitled to.... Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

  9. Nail/head. If the work is yours, great. But when they learn it should cost at most £20t to get the wood to road side and it's worth £40t roadside not including any subsidies that might be available. You might not get any repeat work from them. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

  14. You're all doing it wrong! There's a beech blown over in the edge of a field next door to me. My drive was blocked by some "tree surgeon" who "needed" the firewood as he'd run out of logs to sell. Just help your self to what ever you fancy, buying it is for sissys! 15. Treated trees now require pa1 ticket holders to handle them. Bear that in mind have I read that correctly, you're only planting 60 trees? I'd mech weed, tube n stake. Ground prep would be hand screifing. Then spot spray with a guarded nozzle. If there is a weevil problem. Leave the site fallow for 5-7 years. See what veg you have, spray with glyphosate, check for effectiveness if req re spray. Then either mound or scarify, fence if there's a substantial mammal issue then plant. 18. Varies, what's the weed cover like, what you're planting and what your objectives are. Are there any watercourses near by? What ground prep are you intending to use? Any mammal protection? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  19. Lit one today, but mainly to clear up the rubbish that's normally chucked on the fire. But as we've not had one for a while (central heating's off too) it had built up into a fair pile. A Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  20. Very nice indeed! I love my cherry otter tail paddles! Unless on shallow rocky rivers it's always a wooden paddle. But then, if I can't use a paddle I'd pole it. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

  22. I use it and yup, it's great but they did hike up the price to renew. Very clever business move as you're kinda stuck unless you want to move everything to new software. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
