  1. Read the job/person spec as the answers to the interview questions will be in there, always repeat what you've said on the application form in any interviews as it won't counted unless you say it. Know your shizzle and relax. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=53.202039,-1.221726
  2. On a plus note, you never have to go to London again, Jonesie can send you your toys....
  3. Good call on Fr Jones. I bought my saw from there and am currently on my CS30/31. I was able to get to them and sign the form. But they offered to send my saw to the course provider instead. Give them a ring and check with your provider and you'll have a shiny new saw for when you start your course. Alex
  4. Easy, there's only one. (Sell her a one cube log)
  5. In my previous (but limited) knowledge of these situations I'd suggest to the customer to contact the company responsible for the line and see if they'll deal with it. You wont make any money but the customer might be pleased as it won't cost them anything. Whilst I was working for the FC we kept 2 tree lengths away from all lines unless there was an outage during a harvessting contract. Any other line clearance was done by the utility company with no cost to us (Despite being our planted trees causing the issue).
  6. Hi DN22, I've sent you a pm. I'm In Shirebrook (Mansfield) give me a ring if there's anything I can do for you. Alex --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=53.202032,-1.221733
  7. Will have 30/31 (Hopefully) done by the end of the month. Have own saw and ppe. Can travel a reasonable distance if required. Can also plant/fence if you have the work, Short notice/long days fine by me. Pm or call 07825129504 Cheers, Alex
  8. Truck Driver Training, PSV training, hgv training, lgv training I have to admit it made no real sense to me either, but I found myself in a lengthy discussion on this subject with the company mentioned above as I was considering taking a B+E test and it was highlighted that unless I was using it for a car + caravan affair it's pretty redundant as to tow over 4.5t you need c1+e. Apologies for the confusion, that's what you get for trusting a someone. From the DVLA. "Category B+E: Vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes MAM towing trailers over 750kgs MAM Category B+E allows vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes MAM to be combined with trailers in excess of 750kgs MAM. In order to gain this entitlement new category B licence holders have to pass a further practical test for category B+E. There is no category B+E theory test. For driver licensing purposes there are no vehicle/trailer weight ratio limits for category B+E." Apologies
  9. Total vehicle weight for a post 01/01/97 licence including the trailer is 4.5t. So if vehicle weights (On a vosa/police) weigh bridge 3.5t you can only tow 1t, if it's over that you'll proberbly get shafted. if the vehicle weighs 2.5t you can tow upto 2t depending on the towing vehicles specs. Does that make a bit more sense? I understand it the if you've a pre 97 licence then it goes on the tow weights for the vehicle.
  10. The issue with a b+e licence is that you're still limited to a maximum of 4.5t gross vehicle weight. Go for the biggest licence you can as you can always get extra work driving if you ever needed to.... The Digi card/cpc/and medical once you hit 45 don't add up to that much when you consider the investments made for tools and equiptment to work in this industry. Alex
  11. I guess if you want a shiny helmet the dishwasher is a pretty neat way to go. If you dont have one another way could be cold water with Milton (Baby bottle stereliser) used to work wonders for my kayaking kit inc wet suit boots and helmet. Just dunk it in, leave it for a bit the hang up to dry.
