  1. Snap!!!! My dry suite lives on the bedroom wardrobe. That can hum a bit.
  2. Two governmental organisations...... They didn't set the price.
  3. Some timber was stolen from the opposite side of the rd from FTF's coupe which was reported to the police. They knocked on the blokes door. Made him pay £40 for the approximate tonne he stole and left it there. The woodland manager wanted to prosecute but the fuzz just wanted an easy life.
  4. Not perfect but I'll take it. 576 20" bar.
  5. You've over complicated it chaps, you'll take timber to the value of the job. Plus any additional costs. Such as haulage, marketing, time writing letters because you've not been paid etc. not just the cost of the original harvest and extract.
  6. Just wrap a rabbit net around it if your fence is already up...
  7. £15t 4-18" diameter. Approx 10t £150 the lot first come first served. Not suitable for hgv but good access.
  8. I just push down on the handles and the cutter bar comes up.... Mine is easy to reverse. Guess it's down to operator ability.....
  9. They're pretty nimble and can go over/around. It's a two wheeled tractor with a reciprocating cutter bar. Like a giant hedge gutter.
  10. In its jacket about £3.50kg
  11. Rich, my 576xpg will be up for sale soon...
  12. One day, no dragging. Pm availability and rate.
  13. That's how they travel in a tractor scabbard..... Line them up in a tool vault. Stick a steel bar through the handles.... Sounds good!
  14. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=261778900915
  15. If you're just turning up with boots, strides, lid and lunch. 30/31/38 your total investment is around £1500-£2000. £100 is good, you should be happy with that. If you're any good you'll fill up your diary and should easily earn £20k and pay a shed load less tax than paye. If you're as good as full time it's £26k possibly net 20k if your accountant is any good. Either a) don't be greedy and whiny. b) do it yourself if you want more dosh and you take the risks.
  16. If you've just bought a big house with 3 fires you'll be doing nowt but cut wood. I'd get in touch with Tickhill barn dried logs and buy them nicely split and dry. If you desperately want to cut your own nip into Torne Valley and have a good fondle of what they have on the shelf. If you ask nicely they will more than likely match a web supplier!
  17. Pics...... if its big enough, turn up in a car. Drop it on the house and walk, oops!
  18. Apologise for the derail but as there's a few rhodi bashers here, how many man days would you expect a Ha to take? Dense&mature, 50/50 mature/3-4 year old plants and just 3-4 year old plants?
  19. Forestry sucks, slim margins, long days, hard work (not many want to work as hard as you need to in forestry) don't forget you'll need to buy the timber...... Driving your 4x4 daf through a wood is likely to knacker it. Stumps, branches catching stuff, hydraulic pipes on cranes...... Have fun!
