  1. Don't worry about it, what lives in your wood will be fine as it it. If you want more birds plant trees that provide food over the winter. Hawthorne would be a good start. Also provides cover. Vary the structure of the wood. Introducing Laylandii into a purely broadleaf environment is just going to cause headaches in the future. If you desperately want something green try holly. But keep it tight and don't let the regen take over.
  2. Nooooo! That is literally pissing about 2k of government money into the ground, try and convince the bunny rubbers to fell & sell. If it is for habitat, without compromise then try to convince them to let you drill and just pour in neat glyphosate. But only do it on one side, this gives you the dead wood desired but allows the tree to retain some integrity on the other side to, so less likely to blow over and increases diversity.

    Pay

Ummm close but no cigar, that's just driving. A shift can be upto 15 hours long.

    Pay

07:30-5 = 9.5 hrs a day. Let's average an hour unpaid for breaks. 8.5hrs. 11.75hr now, your training investment is what? £2-3k plus a couple of years experience. You supply nothing yourself as you're paye and get sick/holiday and paid for any extra training plus you're not paying for the training. Now, let's compare that to say..... A lorry driver (class 1), same investment in training, the vehicle alone is worth £150k forget what's inside and £12hr. Away from home a lot, dealing with traffic..... If it's not enough to live in Hertfordshire, move. I bet there's a lot more, living on alot less.
  7. They run out fast enough as it is.... Just use a full can of Silvamark and one of these... http://www.gaywaysltd.co.uk/miscellaneous-forest-accessories-c74
  8. If you're using that much you should be able to barter with a local firewood supplier. I've two who supply a great product. On in tickhill, the other near bilsthorpe. If you ordered in bulk I see no reason why the price can't come down 15-20% splitting 25t in your spare time would be a ball ach.
  9. Days are too short, I just use a Stanley flask.
  10. I've shortened mine, it's ok. Bloody fiddly putting the spring back. Make sure you use a nice shiny new drill bit too!
  11. Aye under fmoc not construction. I'm expecting it to be similar in assessment style with nptc. Cheers!
  12. Has any one done the test? how did you find it? any hints/tips?
  13. AP lifting do just about the best deals on this kind of kit. But they're based in the West Midlands.
  14. Some one beat me to it! You can also borrow mine....
  15. Na! She takes after her dad, eating n sleeping are get favourite things. We'll be sleeping like kings by then.......😴😎
  16. we eventually got one brewed to full strength so it's a lamb dinner and some new boots for mum, though I feel it's a bit of a sly one, she's only been a mum for 8 weeks. Extra brownie points as the mother in law has a present, card and flowers from grandaughter #1 plus I guess I'm on the 4am feed and making breakfast. Looking forward to Father's Day!!!
  17. Harvey, you're based in South Yorkshire aren't you????
  18. White transit custom, hg64mkx didn't get a photo but had some dodgy machinery sales magnetic livery on it. Dark ginger Irish guy slick back hair. 5' 10 average build. Reported to the fuzz. In Blyth north Notts.
  19. Have you gents seen them with a remote? Essentially a giant radio controlled skidding winching tonka toy....
