  1. There's now a few sites near the a3/hindhead and liphook area.
  2. Work is spread over the county from east of Southampton across to Chichester. Transport may be available. Must be reliable and productive. Immediate start. Call Alex, 07872336083
  3. I've got a set. The leaver mean your not at full arms width to close the scoop and there's a mechanical advantage. Also means you can dig deeper before you need to widen the top of the hole. I Also like the way the handles meet at the top do no more bashed knuckles!
  4. I'm the same, price attracted me to Fr jones. I now get their prices matched and occasionally bettered. I'm also on first name terms with the local suppliers, get a cup of tea when I go into the shop and as I'm a pro user my repairs bypass the domestic clients. For Husqvarna I'd only use green stripe just outside of market Rasen and Torne Valley in Tickhill South of Doncaster for Stihl. The service is so much better.
  5. [email protected] of even forestry might know of something in that area.
  6. Any time Scotty. B&A, probably sorry I didn't pick your message up sooner. Pm for more info.
  7. £60 for what ever you can get on your trailer. 4x4 access. Edit: That's scotter not scottor.
  8. Must have an up to date qualification. £10hr labour only contractor. £8hr employed. Preferably with forestry experience. Must be able to get to work sites and be on time. Also will need to work in all weather. Pm for more info.
  9. Ahh, the question mark made me think it was a question.
  10. Shavey, I'm not hunting around to shift it. It'd just be handy if it wasn't there when it's worked again next year.
  11. Iain H, it varies between 2&6ft I've of idea of its value. This is a less dense area. If you're interested drop me a pm or give me a ring. 07872336073
  12. I'm re-spacing 5ha of birch. Get intouch asap if you want it for horse jumps. Already cut. Near mansfield.
  13. I pay £120 for a cs32 I got £130 as a cs35. One guy told me he got £160 in the NE of England but his work was pretty poor when he worked for me. Guys I know of in west cumbria are on £100 buy kit/fuel supplied. I'd say £120 a day is good, more is great but you need to be productive which takes a lot of skill, which takes time. Don't walk onto a site, find you're unproductive compared to others and moan about the rate. You'll piss someone off quickly.
  14. 05 berlingo van, 230k of trouble free miles. 11 partner car, 50k, ok but it's had a few "faults" that needed a doohickey to reset them. I prefer to drive the older one. Plus it has a 2.0 hdi engine. Tows ok and the front seat folds forwards so I've a table at lunch time.
  15. Preferably with forestry experience. 2 weeks work £80 day, all kit supplied. 07872336073
  16. Has any one used the lever & mulch method? How effective was it? Any key positive and negative points. What sort of outputs did you manage, per man day/ha etc Thanks A
  17. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/farmers-get-62-million-yearly-boost-as-tractor-weight-and-speed-limits-increased
  18. That man has it, if it's truly peeing it down flexothane is the only way, cheap, tough and water proof, I've the salopets, and a onsie. It's a bit warm but it only comes out if it's cold and wet and I can't hide out of the rain. On top it's the husky forest waterproof as it has massive vents. But again it's essentially flexothane.
  19. I have three, possibly 4 weeks work for cs32 minimum chainsaw operators. Must have a valid first aid ticket and be current within the FISA regulations or have a confirmed booking. Proof of all qualifications will be required. Own fuel, saw, ppe, personal first aid kit. Pay is £120 per day for 8 hours. E mail your CV with brief covering letter to; [email protected] Please do not private message me on arbtalk. Call 07872336073 with any questions but I will still require a cv and covering letter.
  20. Trees do not prevent flooding. The can however increase the threat of flash flooding. They cause a dam which can break releasing large volumes of water. They also cause damage to in river structures such as bridges and weirs. Such as bending a gate on Hurley weir on the Thames and causing the majority of bridge failures in Cumbria nov 09...... They also considerably reduce the chance of survival if a person falls into a river in spate. They do however assist with providing shelter for fish.
  21. kayakers tend not to like trees.... They clear an awful lot of wood, perhaps mostly unknown.
