  1. Mine was with Dave Meredith above Thirlemere.
  2. On my course were guys from various district councils but that was in Cumbria. I'm guessing you're from the north Bob?
  3. That's an interesting one, I think I just looked at the assessment schedule for this, it looks like it's single tree windblow with the snap from the old multiple. Though it's odd that the old 34 pre req was 32 but 50 is 30/31. Good call though.
  4. Don't get me wrong (I can tell you haven't S.G.) I'm not saying you can't do it unless you've been on a course and untangling 20 odd trees with 3m high plates isn't going to happen in mrs miggin's garden. I just have this niggle that the people who decide which hoops contractors have to jump through are either ignorant to the need for qualified operators to deal with windblow or they ignore it in a desire to get the job done. Any one else see it this way?
  5. Something a couple of us on a forestry site, where we were dealing with big stacks of trees, were wondering. With the amount of trees going over, who on the domestic, utility, council type works hold cs34/35 or the new equivalents? Do councils and indoor contract managers actually know they exist?
  6. So what would you recommend?
  7. "I'll discount you the £1000 extra I charge for clearing up your dog poo"
  8. This is it! Same as telegraph poles!
  9. If you go with a pyo/orchard Aldi are selling reasonable looking raspberry canes and fruit trees for £4 each.
  10. That's rrp inc vat...... But it's a min of 15ha a year.
  11. That's exactly what it will be doing. Also around signs and way markers.
  12. Looking into a mowing job for the next 3 years. I quite fancy something like this.... Or would I be better of with the versatility of a tractor. It's not bowling green work. Mainly the edges of rides. Cheers!
  13. I quite fancy something like this.... But would I be better off with the versatility of a compact tractor? What would you choose/use and why?? Cheers A
  14. I think the harness that comes with the husky is better than the sthil but you can get a beefed up harness for about £50 or £20 on eBay.
  15. Contact sara at Cumbria woodlands. [email protected] Or Dave Meredith. [email protected]
  16. How about a user rating? Employers Bonafide sub contractor Labour only sub A bit like an eBay style feed back system?
  17. Get your self a good box, possibly even a peli case. Then just put in what you want. Much cheaper and there's nothing in it you don't want/need.
  18. I've 2 fs460s and done approx 30ha of restock cleaning and respacing. Overall quite happy with them.
  19. Cross cuts and if I can get one, axe work. Have you heard anything since applying Dan?
  20. Applied! Any one in North Notts want to practice?
  21. Yup, I'm interested.....
  22. You'd sell the ifor on eBay or even here for pretty much 2k I'd have thought. I've not had a B james, mine are GE, Iw and Iw. Ifors have been great and Edwards hasn't. It was just the GE trailer I was mentioning as I'd had a poor experience of it. Thats all.
  23. Also Steve, I'm not buying. The op is. The best value trailer I've bought is my ifor p8e.
  24. Mine are both 3.5t they were never over loaded but certainly on full capicity!
