  2. Ive just done the tech cert level and now it stays at level 3 whiler the new Tech cert course is level 4? So if I do the same course again It will count as an higher qualification?

  4. I agree they dont look to have the best form, but I think they will look at lot better when they come into leaf. Probably worth a moan if you have paid top money for them. decent size trees, look like they have been planted well, see how they go

  9. I have never seen it on anything other than young Oak? I bought a load of young Quercus robur to plant in various places and the ones that were in more shaded places suffered quite badly from powdery mildew. I cant remember the latin for it?? Is there different types of mildew that affect different sp of trees? I dont think ive heard of Uncinula bicornis before is this a common one? matt

    I think you mean equipment used in lifting or lowering operations in the workplace comes under LOLER Not anything that supports a load

  12. I have an NPORS card for Hiab, (lorry loader)which shows I have been assessed on safe operation of. It expires evefy few years. Not sure if its a requirment or not but I would say if something goes wrong the HSE might ask why you have not been trained to use such equipment?

  17. You can save yourself alot of money by getting an engineer to match up your bearings like for like, no need to pay over the odds for 'special chipper bearings'
  18. I dont think TO's are in the business of slapping pointless TPO's on trees, what benifit would anybody or wildlife get from that? There has to be valid reasons for tree protection or they would just get overturned at every appeal and make them selves look bad.

Everytime i'm in a tree and find myself straining and struggling because i have have a poor work position, all that keeps going around in my head is <Silky Fox, Silky Fox Good work position is everything, good work position is everything> its driving me mad (and stopping my lazyness) :lol: Good post by the way
