  1. Im not so sure about Christmas number 1, its a bit hit or miss:001_tt2:
  2. This coment should be disregarded although i agree with some of it. The title says 'two cents' NOT 'one buck'
  3. Ash and Hawthorn are my faves closley followed by internal doors and kitchen tables. Burn owt if its dry err.......i mean will burn
  4. The perfect response couldnt say it better myself. Some people havent got the sense they were born with. He is obviously oveerlooking the fact that the skill is in making the cuts just as much as what with. Obviously the is an element of skill and competence needed to use a chainsaw but for pruning young trees its not the right tool fo the job. You could argue for more money and try a more skilled way of pruning them ...like with surface to air missiles
  5. yes certainly! is it a remote control for a car? aboat? what is it ?
  6. This is how I understand it to work. I have never heard of tenants being responsible for the trees, maybe garden and shrubs but not trees, I think that is crazy.
  7. I do stuff like that all the time, but im past help.
  8. Yes after a quick read up on it it I would say im pretty sure it is Grifola, I would check to see the extent of it - possbly use an increment borer or what ever you have access to and decide whether to fell or reduce or leave it what ever is required.
  9. Actually I rekon Grifola frondosa
  10. Meripilus?
  11. Spot on Jonny
  12. 1, Vey prone to tar spot - rhytisma? cant remeber speling but im sure you know what i mean, no big issue just unsightly. Not known for poor structure-usually very good. 2, Not brlliant in general bio diversity terms but better Sycamore trees than nothing in my opinion. 3, Yes 4, Non native 5, 18% 6, Yes i think a lot of people view them negativley, I would argue to keep one in certain circumstances-- but only one:lol: 7, Good wood for allround use and firewood. easy to climb and work on, can be pruned well -look good. down side hear alot problems the aphids cause dropping sugary substance on cars driveways etc. Easyly self set- alot of people call them weeds my opinions only
  13. Do they? I have burnt holes in them loads of times with pole pruner, mid range trimmer exhaust! I think they are about as heat resistant as a shell suit.
  14. Thats supposed to say Harkie smock, bloody laptop keeps missing letters out! is realy anoyig
  15. Hakie smock and trousers very good.
  16. There is no legal route to make them cut the trees down - there is no right to light (except for possibly the heigh Hedges act). The trees belong to the H/A so they are the people to approch. They may fell or prune the trees as a good neighbour, they would be more likley to do something if you offer to pay. Be polite and be reasonable and I dont think you should have a problem. If they overhang your property you have a common law right to cut back to the boundary. good luck
  17. Hey where have the goary pics gone i want to show my brother
  18. MMM.... just about to have tea, what shall i have? Ribs?.... lamb chops?.... mm.... think ill just have a salad sandwich:nurse:
  19. Ha Ha I've seen this happen!!
  20. Natanoko blades new £20? where?
  21. They seem good as new, he did say there would be a limited amout of times they could be done before the hardened metal had gone.
  22. EEER did say a tenner? I meant £15, send them to me! Its an engineering company who has made some type of jig for them, i think they are done mechanically, I have tried sharpening them with the triangular file that is supposed to be for them but without good results. I will ask the bloke if its ok if let you all know his details and whether he would be willing to maybe offer a postal service then you could give him a try. Only one bad thing about silky's -- the price maybe two then ---cutting yourself
  23. And ive even found someone who can sharpen them aswell £10 a blade.
  24. Natanoko for me! wouldnt be without one
  25. Now your just using long words to confuse people
