    Tree ID

At a guess I would say the first two are holly- ilex aquafolium and the second is possibly bird cherry- prunus padus

    Tree ID

Are these pictures of two trees? Look like holly and cherry but you need to show some more distinguishing features for a positive ID.

I can't beleive people have such a hang up about what to pay their workers? Ask them what they want, tell them what you are willing to pay and if you don't think they are worth it or they want more than they are worth to you, send them on there way
  4. Why not do it with treelife then?

    Help

You have to make sure they are located right before applying any pressure or they will just snap for fun.
  6. I don't think there is the option to turn the airbag off in the front of the Rangers ( older ones anyway) so becareful putting a seat in the front
  7. Started drinking early today I see.... :laugh1:
  8. Yes I see what you mean if the ankle straps would of been put on the other spike it would make them easier to tighten/fasten. You can put the pads on anyway you want, you could put them on your arms if you wanted. I still think the pads should go to the front tho
  9. not bothered either really... Fell more trees with my pen these days
  10. You make me doubt myself, I have just looked at four different videos on u tube that show people climbing with spikes and all had the pads to the front and none to the back.....at least I'm in the majority ...at the moment.
  11. Really? I think we should do a vote, who wears their spikes which way round.
  12. Looks like the spikes are the right way round to me? Thats how I wear mine with the padding to the front where the pressure is on your shins as your legs are locked straight. Is that the wrong way? I don't think so.
  13. Those safety razors are a nightmare aint they? On a serious note trees hung up like that are very dangerous, get someone who knows what there doing is my advise.......sometimes even that's not good enough.
  14. Spoke to my mate again today and he said the first step was to approach the garage to see what they said, so he did but the Asian station manager who only spoke broken English dismissed him as though he was lying and said it wasn't the fuel and he was a silly man! So trading standards have told him to keep the sample of fuel from the garage and now write a letter to shell to see if they are willing to do anything. If a satisfactory result isn't acheived then it looks like he will have to go through the small claims court. The fuel sample is being kept for now but he doesn't know whether there will be any point to having it analysed yet until he gets a reply from shell or they request it? I hope shell take it a bit more seriously as it could of caused an accident, not to mention the hassle it has caused there customer. I'll post back with the results of contacting shell. I have had an issue with shell in the past and there customer services are quite good so fingers crossed.
  15. I'll keep you posted.
  16. A friend of mine went to local shell filling station with his motorbike last week and thought he would treat it to a tank of the expensive petrol, a hundred yards down the road and his bike conked out. After having to have it recovered and the fuel system stripped and cleaned it turns out that they are having to have the fuel analysed to see what it is? It seems to be something similar to turps or paint stripper. He is currently dealing with trading standards trying to recover repair costs. I am sure this is an isolated case and something to do with the garage and not shell, but I bet he wishes he didn't bother.
  17. The seed capsules could look like little acorns to somebody who doesnt know the difference, i suppose. Please be assured it is a Eucalyptus and not an oak. I dont know what sample you took to the tree expert but often it can be challanging trying to make a positive ID without being able to look at numberous features and people often overlook the obvious ones. Regards
  18. I think global recycling have started dealing with Jo beau?
  19. Phaeolus schweinitzii
  20. WTF. Pockets just create snag points imo But I agree with the other points above and I'll add I think it's important to make sure the inside leg is stitched well so they don't rip open when you do the splits dragging up a muddy banking and they don't rip at the bottom where your boots rub together when walking. One thing I'd like to see in the jacket is the mobile phone pocket near the neck which you get with the harkie smock, I find that's a great feature to stop you phone getting smashed when carrying logs and you can hear it when it rings even with yer muffs on. I know we're talkin about the pants tho
  21. spot on tony I actually pinched the picture from an old post of yours from about 4 years back. I came across it when I was trying to find difficult ID pictures. I thought it may have been a bit harder for the ones who are a bit better at this than me.
  22. Looks like some sort of Ganoderma, sure theres people on here will give you more of a positive Id. In my experience reduction would probably reduce the sail however at the same time cause the tree more stress and speed up the decline. Personally if the client wants to retain it as long as possible I wouldn't do any pruning unless it was likley to cause harm to someone or property.
  23. It looks more like a Vermeer to me
  24. I would just tell the wife that you've managed to fix it. If she sees that you'll be buying another.
  25. That's the longest tail I've ever seen
