  1. I am trying my best to see your way....and I kind of get where your coming from in the way that I guess it could be seen as a fast track way of failing a test and then resitting it until passed. However I can only speak from my experiences and I have worked towards exams and passed, knowing deep down that I have winged it. I am currently doing the level six and I am struggling, the repetitive failing is forcing me to understand fully what I am writing, I just cant seem to get away with waffling bulls**t. The pressure is on and I feel I have already forgotten stuff but I can check my portfolio to refresh my memory. I like this style of learning and feel I get more from it in the long term. IMO the key to achieving most things in life is determination, if you want it, you can have it, you just got to work hard.
  2. Climbing is easier when you can hold on with your feet.
  3. What do you recommend to justify it then?
  4. The way I understand what you are saying is, To pass the current level six all you have to do is keep putting the submissions in until you pass. I agree, just like keep having to resit an exam when you fail. I am saying that just because you keep submitting until you pass doesn't mean you don't have to learn the subject, if you don't thouroughly learn it and produce the required standard, you fail. Arguably I think you have to know more, because to get the box ticked, the work has to be 100% correct, no room for error. Where as you could learn 75% of a subject and pass an exam and still not even know what you got right or wrong and the answer you give might be incorrect to a degree. Also a great benefit of this system is you are creating a perfect portfolio of sound information to turn back to when your memory lets you down, let's face it we are not robots, we do forget things, it's about learning where to find the information what we need when we need it, not memorising text books. Am I right?
  5. If you fail any test you can retake it until you pass, so what's the difference?
  6. Ok got yer. No dramas
  7. Its worth ringing Aviva, I have saved a packet. I got the tip off here.
  8. What's the benefit of selling the photo? To avoid the fees? Also will the buyer lose any buyer protection?

  14. https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/321056/safety-at-streetworks.pdf I think this is the latest guidance it's free to view online or you can order the book for around 11 quid.
  15. Pull the service pole down with a big winch? And drive away quickly.
  16. You can't block the footpath completely because if you do, you need to make a proper walkway, protecting the pedestrians from traffic, giving them clear instruction of where to walk. There is a freshly updated set of street works guidelines to follow, (not that this is new) I may have a copy, I'll look.
  17. Yeah In twenty years
  18. reading the post again and looking at the pictures it is clear that the damage is obvious, but i still wouldnt do anything.
  19. 1, do nothing. if there is no footpaths underneath. imo it would be premature to do anything until the damage manifests itself and even then its a natural area of low use presenting a low risk.
  20. Won't last very long? I think these boots are as good as any others, on my third pair now I like em.
  21. Oh I see what you mean. But Do you think this is meant or is it just a case of that certain LA's are behind the times and don't have the available resorces to update the system?. I used the Caulderdale council website the other day and it is a far more efficient way of finding information out, especially as council staff are becoming less and less and its harder to obtain the required info.
  22. I've been using my mk2 for about three months no problems so faaaaaaarrrrrrggggghhhh.
  23. God knows what happened to the text Not used to ipad typing
  24. Not if they use it to tip the table in their favour I don't understand what you mean by this? How can a tree officer tip the table in his favour? His job is to protect trees for the wider benefits of everybody. Its a particularly short sighted idea given that it encourages developers to remove all trees because they feel they cant trust a council employee to be reasonable? or you could say, greedy developers cut good trees down unnecessarily before they get protected and might make them have to compromise there plans of cramming as many houses as possible into a small space without any thought to integrating any decent green infrastructure that is vital for a healthy community. A TO being reasonable and a developer being reasonable can be argued either way. They both have there own agendas, a developer wants to make as much dosh has possible and a tree officer wants to preserve good trees that are difficult to establish into maturity. Personally I'm on the tree side of things but I would like to think I would be reasonable, there is often room for give and take. Despite the odd few that you may manage to slip an order onto the tactic probably leads to a net loss in trees. I don't think the tactic happens very often but I agree, from my experience developers would sooner not take the chance.
