  1. We get a negative draft sometimes, usually weather dependent, but opening or shutting various windows and doors usually sorts it. Doesn't happen very often maybe twice a year and the stove is lit all winter. I'd say it's not too unusual. Obvs you want to know if your liner is ok anyways and as said check batteries in smoke alarms.
  2. Enjoyed that thanks. Looks like there was plenty volume on them
  3. I'd also check the cutters are all close in length lefties compared to righties. Don't think this is the bother here but I have had it do funny things with uneven cutter length
  4. Pretty dissapointed, I had assumed this thread was about Brian blessed, hawkmen and lasers. I got open water padi a few years back. Diving is awesome. About as off this planet as you can feel and still be on it.
  5. Don't know it's my internet, but says video unavailable for me.
  6. Swot I was thinking, support you ladder real good on first cut. Fix it down with screws. Eye it to check its level ( look right down it) and not bend or scewed.
  7. How are people finding there 550xp once the warranty is up? Local saw shop has said he wouldn't touch one past 2 yr old unless it was free! My 026 seems to be close enough is speed and weight to my 346xp. Personally I am a sucker for the slightly older, tougher saws, but it's mostly just me using them and I'm am happy to maintain them.
  8. Which way is the bow? From start to finish or sideways across the board? Is it on yours first cut or something develops as you go through the log?
  9. Just pinch them together and stitch it. Worked well for me. I thought it would just tear again immediately but it has lasted surprisingly well
  10. Hang on in there! There are really good hard working lads and lasses out there, it's just finding them that's the golden ticket I suppose. Good idea asking for x years experience as the should have a realistic expectation of what the work entails. Personally I flit between my own jobs and sunny work and an unsuited to full time employment with anyone! But would consider part time employment if the right employer came along. I guess that's the hard bit, lots of the hard grafting folk in this game end up wanting to run their own show a bit. But I do know a handful of really good lads who have been steady away with an employer for years now - it is possible. Agree with you on the courses, they are like a soft taster for fiddling with kit! Had a lad out on experience ( paid) but pulled a sickie after day 1 of a 3 day job. Annoying
  11. Yeah I reckon just give then a day rate for you and the kit your taking. That way it's dead simple and the jobs all their responsibility
  12. Yes some great work there. 2.5 days isn't long either!
  13. Little update. Working on ripples cloaks is hard......and slow.
  14. Scary? Howd you mean? He Seems pretty chilled to me! Yard is permanent chaos!
  15. https://www.chainsawbars.co.uk/guide-bar-care/
  16. Hens teeth. A pal got one from off Ebay that I got a look at. But other than that no idea. I'd probs just stick the pdf on a tablet if pos
  17. Bit harsh there spud! Kinda know where your coming from, but there's still plenty helpful folk on here! Haven't Google safety Chinese saws yet, but have had some decent saws with brake bands go/ slip even when on etc ect. I'm Into fixing stuff, even if it's cheap. Highly satisfying , learn something, less rubbish. Pleased you got it sorted OP.
  18. Started to make this. Thought I would.post pics as I went to show how it progresses. Quickly realized I wanted it standing up to carve so managed to hoist it up with a farmi jack and then chain block
