Well ended up buying a caged 8x5 idespension tipper. Squeezes on but dont look too well balanced ( either way input it on was a bit back heavy. Will do for know bit will be keeping an eye out for a 10 or 12 x 5 plant i reckons

I like the simpicity of paying/being paid a flat day rate and taking the rough with the smooth. As long as its generally not long days with the odd early finish im happy.

Just wack the mud tyres on. I wouldnt bother with swtching between. Decent muds dont behave too badly on the road, i have had joy with bfg muds, cooper discovers, kumhos. Insa saharas were like ice and i constantly got punctures with them, personally if your towing a bit on A roads id get a decent branded non remould. Cant see the point of a 4x4 without muddies on really!

How have you found the safetrack 150/35s? It seems good, if a little slow in the feed rollers but good crushing. Maybe an underlying issue with mine. From a measure up i thought i would need a 5ft wide trailer?

A few mates have said they never use their tracked chipper off the back of plant trailer like a tow behind, too annoying and far from back of vehicle and high so that put me off plant trailers as as far as i can tell that would be the main benefit.

Had my 360tes since 2016. Its has always worked, idles well, havent had to fix anything on it at all. I like that. I also got it new from italy/ebay for about 300 euro. Cant complain at that id say. Defo better having popped that cat out and drilled the exhaust @bigtreedon i guess don some folk have had bad experiences with certain saws like early 550/560 xps, early 201t and 261s 362s etc. If you have had a bad do with them and then bad customer support i cant see a problem with shopping around tbh, the little 2511 is a belter as is the makita/dolmar 7900 -
Just got a tracked chipper, greenmech st 150/35. Its 1300kg. I have no trailer yet. Thinking of a tipper that can double up and be useful for other stuff. But maybe it wont work well/be too high/ heavy Any thoughts from people that have done this?

No not since last summer, it is behaving like its over full though, was working on a slight tilt ( filter housing lower) but nothing ridiculous or unusual. Took it all the way to garage, and it wouldnt leak there. Went back to job and ofcourse was leaking like a gooden.

It leaked last summer, i tightened the nuts that hold the filter housing on and all was good until now. I havent noticed a significant leak until today, but i suppose it could have been weeping a bit and i didnt notice. Will get a new filter ordered.

Assuming thats the bigger filter under the big red cap, it appears clean as a whistle

Got hyd oil steady flow out the breather argo filter and dip stick ( when removed). Not a mega flow but more than a drip. Probably a litre per half hour going into a bucket. Chipper appears to working normally apart from that. Had breather off and cleaned it What is causing this?
