  1. Yes making sense, making sure that if something was to happen it couldnt be blamed on srt but in the sense of it all, it will be hard to pin point it on srt as such. thanks alot
  2. Yes I meant PL sorry, Just that they cover me under industries best practice and if im not following that and something was to happen etc, where would i stand. Just making sure. If im completely wrong i can stop thinking about it
  3. Called my insurance company today to ask them about climbing on srt, i was more than certain before the call that they wouldn't have a clue, the lady I spoke to said that I need to follow health and safety guidelines and industry best practice which is along the lines of what i thought i would hear. From what i know SRT rope access is part of industry best practice as I was taught it on my CS38 but what about for work positioning? My insurance company is tree surgeon insurance services, if that is of any relevance. Also another question, how is everyone retreiving there anchor point? i.e. running bowline, ive seen the cambium saver set up but that means you have to run the tail end your not climbing on to the ground, would the not get in the way? At the moment im climbing to my anchor then changing over to DDRT and getting out the tree, Is that the easiest way?
  4. I really enjoyed my first show, bought my rope wrench and a pantin from honey bros, awesome set up they had in their tent and only company i found with the rope wrench, tried bartering a bit but no luck, prices were better than on the internet so it was ok, got a few free magazine instead awesomee
  5. if i was the employer i would train them all to base jump, would cut 50% of the time of job!! . So awesome
  6. Facebook gets my nerves
  7. Had many awesome evening studying arb, ive learned loads from knot tieing to basic rigging to fungi idents. Nice to work in a group of like minded people. Its always a laugh and lots of tea and coffee gets drunk. Loads of fun, whenever i go i bring my ISA book which is there for everyone to look and work through as a group. It is really a good evening. Lots of tea and lots of trees
  8. alot of love in the trees will be more when i go srt lol
  9. Next time we are out, you can have a go on my VT, im finding it very sexy at the moment
  10. After the rec climb and watching Ian and Dan on SRT, i am 100% sure i want to go to the darkside. the minimum i need is the rope wrench and the pantin? And just to double triple check, The tether isnt load bearing so i can use some 6mm accessory cord? In theory you can foot lock instead of buying a pantin but if you are up against the trunk its going to be death so a pantin is worth the £££? Elliminate thrusting all together and pantin or footlock all the time? Please correct me if im wrong anywere please Super excited about it all.
  11. Really awesome rec climb again, nice to meet new faces. Thanks silky fox for letting me use your pulley saver, made everything super fast and thanks for the advice on work positioning and rope management, made a big difference. + sports lanyard lol Im defo going over to srt once the funds are there. Thank you everyone, properly awesome day Arran
  12. Good luck sir, just talking about the pictures, whats your thoughts on the sophora japonica which is lent over the brick wall, i only quickly saw it last time i was there on the way back to the college bus. Is the wall there to keep it structurally sound? and if i remember correctly between the wall and the tree there is expanding foam (Might be wrong) Everyone elses opinions are welcome Arran
  13. Been looking on ebay for second hand ones, probly going to buy one next month. Its going to be lucky dip finding one which is close enough to collect and make it worth my money. Are there any other brands which come out cheaper, or alternatives to the box i.e home made remedies or is it not worth the £££ Arran
  14. yep but how would the changeover work if you was spiking on a pole for example, sorry for being unclear. a bit sloww i am lol Arran
  15. Makes sense, does that mean spiking up you climb on the front attachments and if so whats it like on bridges where it can move i.e tree motion or tree magic. Or carry a spair lanyard and change around when ready? Arran
