  1. How do you guys clean your pulleys, my hitch climber is really dirty/gritty and thats not cool Arran
  2. thats what i thought, i steer clear of the yosemite for that exact reason. looks a little tidier as a knot but bad skills if the tail that is tucked away becomes untucked and you clip into it Arran
  3. At the moment i am about 65% drt and 45% srt, they both have there place in my kitbag and if i was to get a stiff tether / zk2 percentages will change in favor of srt. When i rec climb it is always on srt now:001_smile: I find limb walking back in on long limbs where i have no secondary and i need my full weight on my climbing line a real pain, and i dont like putting a hand ascending on my line before I go for a limb walk and running the tail of the rope through it just takes loads of time. The new rope wrench makes it alot easier with the pully in it and a stiff tether, need to spend more time on it through to get a real feel for it . Just like to keep it simple by using a rope wrench and a pantin Ima keep learning Arran
  4. Wicked pictures dude. Nice to meet you and look forward to heading kent way. If all goes well Andys new groundy had a brilliant climb and Has shed loads of potential For the future. Good day all round. Arran
  5. only been in 20 mins, awesome day and aload of good climbing, I was climbing on my rope wrench (old one) / hitch climber with soft tether and had a go on andrew t's new rope wrench with stiff tether/ hitch climber and my god its a massive improvement, super impressed and a great step in the right direction. Loads of swinging about and larking around. go old laugh, just waiting for people to put pictures up on there phones. will be the first to admit it i am cream crakered.
  6. thats what i believe
  7. Tophandle didnt start first time, or 2nd or 3rd... had to keep trying
  8. Earlier i fell asleep in the bath and woke myself up by starting a tophandle in my dream and splashing water everywhere The other day I dreamed that i was throwing larges bits of conifer out of the top of a hedge and in the process grabbed the covers and threw them clean on the bed as if it was the lump of conifer. girlfriend wernt happy dont just take work home, take it to sleep aswell Anyone else have tree dreams Arran
  9. good skills dude see you there
  10. Rope (Mainline) positioning when limb walking, so you minimalise natural redirects or use natural redirects to your advantage. which is part of planning your limb walks properly. Thats what i found really useful information gained on rec climbs. Arran
  11. Need to shuffle some work around so I can come. Dying to goo havent been on a rec climb for ages. will keep updated,
  12. No being serious, when hanging of my harness not being out of reach as such just being properly awkward or it ends up between me and the limb im on.or when you are trying to place your silky back in the scabbard and its swinging about and being a pain. Find it fine reaching down to my leg But again its preference each to their own Arran
  13. well said , I keep finding myself in situations where Im in an awkward position on the tip of a limb laid out flat just to knock a little bit of dead off the tip and Its so easy to grab my silky when its on my leg, I think to myself there is no way i would of got my silky if it was hung off my harness. A proper winner for me Arran
  14. euc lunge from a fun sunday Arran
  15. Have a 346xp at work with a 15" bar and is nice and small/light/alot less compression when starting and in my eyes beats the 357, we also have a 372 and I dont get on with it I went out and bought a 357 after my cs31 and she is serving me well but now after using a 346 im like dohh Arrann
  16. Thanks folks, ive got mine on 13" at the moment and is lovely as im using it up the tree a bit more. My second question which i should of put in my first post was whats the biggest comfortable size but spud you answered that for me thanks bro Arran
  17. What is the largest bar you can run on a 357 Cheers Arran
  18. Will have a go, lower d's meaning off of a tree motion? got something a little simlar on my harness will have a go ater. Thanks man Arran
  19. Plenty confident on both, just thought that having a failsafe would be sensible just trying to preserve cord/ have a little fun when descending (More emphasis on the fun part:thumbup:) Arran
  20. Having trouble working out where abouts to place my figure of eight for descend out of larger trees/ rec climbs , anyone got any ideas/ pictures? Im on a hitch climber and want to leave it on as a failsafe Arran
  21. Saw a kitbag just for spikes on the tinternet, the other day But i find it anywhere now I want to buy it. Does anyone know what i am talking about or do other people use different things to store spikes in. Don't want them in my rope/ harness bag / Arran
  22. sounds like a bit of me
  23. sounds like a bit of me
  24. I understand there are loads of combinations just wondering what people like/ or dislike on 13mm hopefully saving me buying something thats not quite right for me ive been through loads of knots on my marlow boa started on a VT then shortend it for less sitback then went over to sooper cooper which was fast and very good at self tending but struggled with quite a bit of sitback which i tryed to adjust but couldnt get it right, so know im on a knut and love it, its like a self tending prussic in my eyes.
