  1. Perfect thank you sir, been messing about with cheapy ones and they are just naff, these seem to be more like it
  2. Im trying to find one of the water bottles that are metal with the screw top and the loop on the screw top to put a krab through, ive had a few but the screw tops thread themselves and do not tighten properly and are just naff:thumbdown:, does anyone know where i can buy a decent/ strong one Thanks Arran
  3. Seems that a lot of people can run with less than 8, and 8 to 10 is recommended. Real interesting as we work in an industry that is physically and mentally demanding, on another note who doesn't eat breakfirst? If I didn't I would seize up
  4. You round andys this thursday?, looking forward to seeing your new toy
  5. Arbtalker's wifes seem scary but interesting I hate feeling tired, couldnt imagine running on 6 or less hours id probly full asleep whilst hanging in the tree
  6. I need 7 - 8 a night to keep me going on a work day and sleep the same if not an hour longer when not working the next day. Talked to some people who only sleeps 4 hours a night and still does a physical job baffled to how people can do it? lots of coffee and redbull? high on life ? What about you folks? Arran
  7. been out all day stripping ivy off sycamores and the rw made the job so much easier. I was able to tie into one tree and work off three surrounding others with a redirect. Going from bottom to top loads of times made me thankful for the rw. And that was with just a pntin and footlocking Ivy:0 ropewrench:1
  8. thanks dude, what would you call it?
  9. Ive just turned to srt and im still using my Marlow gecko rope with a vt, just added a rope wrench and a pantin works good for me, once you get a couple of metres up where your rope tends through your pantin its so awesome, or you get your groundy to hold your line down for the first bit just make sure you dont kick him in the face Arran
  10. Few more wicked day, thanks dan for getting me the opitunity to come down to observe & ground
  11. Sorry, I didnt know job and knock meant the same even if you was on an hourly rate How would you work out what your days pay would be if your on an hourly rate? I assume you would be paid for an 8/9 hour day? Im always learning Arran
  12. With an hourly rate when the job is job and knock the harder you work the less you earn, Arran
  13. Tryed punting out on a limb and it works really well, i seem to have long legs so when i put a stride in i go from horizontal to upright which seems really awesome. And sometimes i can get the flick of my ankle to unclip the pantin Turning my back on limbs work really well aswell when wanting to go straight up past the limb, finding myself doing it naturally when progressing up Arran
  14. I like the petzl, couldnt get on with it for weeks then pulled the plastic clicker down at the back so it sat lower on my head, from then on it's been awesomee! arran
  15. MBS Grounds maintenance, based in braintree. Bit of a trek but I think overall will improve me loads as a climber in comparison to working for myself doing domestic work. Happy to earn less for the experience. Arran
  16. Thank you folks, everythings going in, going to put my phone on silient and get stuck in. And will always rake up, chip/ anything to help get the job finished looking forward to it all!!
  17. Start full time work as a climber on the 2nd well excited Want to make a really good impression what are your tips guys Arran:thumbup:
  18. Clever, like your line of thought Would chopping and changing so much effect my loler? Arran
  19. Ive got a Tree magic 2 harness, love it loads, but i want to put a swivel on it, but its a belt on the front with sliding d's on it. Would it be crazy to cut the belt off and replace with 8mm marlow boa + swivel, 8mm boa because thats what will fit through the gap If crazy shoot me down now Arran
  20. if i get cold, i start them up
  21. The one foot on and one in the pantin is sort of what ive been doing but needs a real knack, ima keep at it Thank you Ian Arran
  22. In the picture, what would you do in that position on srt. If i was to not be on the limb and clipped into my pantin i is a reall pain as im always smashing into the limb try to footlock up as such. But if you keep you feet on the limb you cant really body thrust up and if you are to climb up the rope you have to heave all your weight up til your upright and then you can sort out the rope wrench and vt, which to me doesnt seem safe. Been out on rw twice now and the learning curve is happening Arran
  23. Yes loads of condensation, but ive got an old leaky one, great for all my spades shovels, ladders, tonne bags, cones etc but keep my climbing kit and saws in my bedroom
  24. Yes, been running my own thing since i learnt to drive in my first year, and just about to finish my second year on friday thats studying horticulture, but few things happening at the moment work wise so i might be climbing for someone else which is a positive thing Cant remember I was so nervous/ buzzing from my spur of the moment enter a climbing comp, i cant remember lol
