  1. Where would I start to get that section shut down? I understand you have to call the electric board and they survery it then shut it down while you work but all my other knowledge is gray as in who to call as in what number etc. Glad im on arbtalk or i would be stumped Arran
  2. Looked at a job the otherday for a friend of mine near some powerlines, well im not sure what they are. They are on like a standard wooden telegraph pole but the line itself is much thicker than a telephone line, On the telegraph pole it says danger high voltage. Im not going to touch the trees which are 4 metres away til i know what the lines all about. Anyone got any ideas what the line is? The line is black or a black outer coating? Arran

Lifespan of climbers i was quoted when i first starting talking about being a climber was 35-40 Just read in another thread 10 years of climbing then your done Id like to climb well past 40 and im sure there are many fine examples of 40+ climbers on here With new climbing techniques such as SRT and more ascending products on the market tree climbing lifespan should be expanding? What are your tips and tricks to staying fit and when do you think you will be hanging up your rope? Arran

  7. I handed out leaflets for myself one time and did one large road which took me just over an hour to do both sides. From that ive got 3 jobs, then one customer had me back a second time making it 4 jobs then one recommendation from down that road so far making it 5 jobs for an hour of handing out leaflets. And im sure there will be more people calling from that road. For an hours walking I made reasonable money, i think its worth it, just finding the right streets is key Arran

  13. I think this might be an option for me after I finish college and from what I've heard nights are worked? Can it be explained what doing chainsaw work on the railways is all about and how you can get into it? What Certs and ticket are needed? I've got 30 31 38 39 woodchipper and soon to be first aid Also how yo guys rate it Thanks folks Arran
  14. Learn all the demonstrate knowledge questions for your theory, for all my tickets ive recorded question and answers on my phone and played back through my headphones which really works for me personally. Really good theory will help drag you through the assessment with flying colours.

  17. How much would a 2007 200t be worth second hand roughly, went on ebay to have a butchers at prices but didnt really help. Its in average condition for a second hand saw. Just wondering where about in the ballpark the price will be. Thanks folks Arran
  18. Just picked up some husky 2stroke oil from stantons which wasnt to expensive, also got my saw back and there was no charge for finding the fault/ sorting it which im well chuffed about So I bought a sawpod which im currently wearing around the house to get a feel for lol Thanks folks Arran
  19. Its an awesome evening, loads learnt every week and some funny stories told. Learning loads already about fungus' and diseases and also nice to hear opinions on other peoples kit More the better!! Arran
  20. Husky started playing up, took it too stantons and they said i need to be running a better 2 stroke oil. I have been running a cheap one for a while. Just finishing the bottle off but now ive binned it, dont want a broken saw What in your eyes is the best 2stroke oil? I also always run with premium unleaded Arran
  21. Nice post to read , hang onto it forever. The first saw I bought was a husky 357 and i doubt ill ever sell it.
