  1. Found these today growing under beech and oak, wondering what they are. Thanks in advance. Adam
  2. Ditch the lanyard altogether?
  3. Hi, can anyone give me the part number/manufacturer detail for the sprag clutch connecting the flywheel to the engine? Thanks Adam
  4. Hi, what's the best fence preservative? I want to treat my closeboard for the first time but don't want it to be too different in colour. Thanks Adam
  5. Power Tools Online UK, DIY Corded, Cordless & Hand Power Tools From Anglia Tool Centre Maybe worth a look ? Makita 18v 3ah on offer .
  6. Just an observation, the Parachute regiment moved out of Aldershot in 2003, yes there is still a military presence but don't think it is a 'town full of squaddies'. There are plenty of nicer places, and plenty alot worse. Good luck.
  7. Hi, can anybody tell me what the hard black finish on the discharge chute and the top of the body cover is? Got to do a little welding and would like to be able to make good after. Thanks
  8. I think it's a cotoneaster?
  9. I have a small hedge laying job, around 25-35 metres. It is currently sparse and will need some supplementary planting I suspect. I'm hoping to get a good job for my client which is why I'm asking here, I've never done it and have no plans to start now. The job address is between Camberley and Farnborough. If anyone can help either Pm call or email. Thanks Adam 07968770361 [email protected]
  10. Thanks Sloth, yes I have as a ceanothus and lilac have also died close by. Couldn't decide if what was there was enough to confirm honey fungus. Here are some pics with the bark peeled away.
  11. Hi, can anyone help with suggestions as to what could have caused this. It's a rowan and has not shown signs of life yet, which is unusual.
  12. Not bad for one day.......
  13. Hi Couldyajust, if you use these, how do you get on with spikes/gaffs? Do you remove the built in spikes or put gaffs on as well?
  14. Just half decent wax polish, they're just a pair of leather boots at the end of the day.
  15. What are the Clip and Step like with spikes? My Golds are a bit soft, hence foot ache after an hour or so... I normally switch to Protector Pros for bigger spiking jobs but would like to stay in just one pair or boots for everything. Notwithstanding this, I rate the Hiax Golds. Cheers
  16. I have 100 metres of 15 metre tall, 300mm dbh willow to re pollard at 3 metres above ground level. Excellent access as the run is adjacent to a flat paddock, but working over a 3' fence. All trees are within 4metres of vehicle access. I would like to hire a machine and operator which can grab and lift them into the paddock. If it can cut them that would be even better. If anyone can help or advise that would be great, I'm looking to get this booked in in the next 12 weeks so there's no immediate rush. Site is 5 minutes off Jnc. 5, M3. Please PM or call/email if you are able to help. Thanks Adam 07968 770361 [email protected]
  17. LA's don't tend to look further than potential profits in this day and age, alas. I don't know whether there's any mileage in this suggestion but have you heard of a 'community asset order'? This may be worth looking into, like I say though, I don't know if it'll be of any use. Good luck.
  18. Thanks Cheesy.
  19. As title suggests, I have an overrun clients garden and am looking for advice on the best chemical control. Thanks Adam
  20. A socket set, hammer, prybar, and an extension tube for a bit of extra leverage with the sockets /prybar. Worked for me for ages... When the chipper stops...
  21. Hi, I'm not so sure but I suspect this may be an elm, possibly 'jersey'? What are your thoughts? Thanks
  22. these sort of enquiries should be taken seriously, otherwise people will be left feeling like they are barking up the wrong tree.
  23. I stumbled across this so figured there would be no harm in posting as it may be relevant and if not then fine. I'm still using mine and for what it's worth, I rate it (my ropes are fine too).
  24. Rock Exotica - Climbing Gear - Carabiners
  25. Try British Gas, they provide a free service after a survey. Got ours for nothing.
