  1. We put in a 'normal' quote but make it clear that the poop must be cleared before our arrival. If not, the full charge for the work will be applied whilst we will only do what we can in doggy non-contaminated areas. (I have a big dog too, who comes to work). Leaving dog poop lying around a domestic garden is just lazy.
  2. You can use anything that works. Bear in mind that a 1600kg load means failure will be a bit dramatic. Along with shear pins inside the mechanism, the handle (proper one) is designed to fail before the winch/cable and rated shackles etc. Might be worth considering?
  3. Hi Matt, give me a call if you like,; 07968770361 Adam's Trees | Tree Services based in Aldershot Thanks, Adam
  4. T22 (not full body) is a great harness, mine still comes out every now and then despite being quite old now.... Treemotion is now my primary, excellent but so very different. Maybe this is wrong, but why buy something and then reduce its' versatility?
  5. Hi, I have some nice felling and shaping work for a few days. Nothing nasty and an excellent ground crew, all private domestic jobs too. I've damaged my shoulder and am currently drift wood so no climbing.... It's only a few days if anyone can help. 07968770361 [email protected] Thanks Adam
  6. Good bit of gear but not sufficiently rated for lowering, for this look at the CMC MPD. Much better for small diameter rope lowering control, although expensive (fig 8 is less painfull to buy!). Grigri is good for your side strops, belay and as a component of an SRT ascent system. ....IMO........
  7. The oval ensures that loading is distributed as evenly as possible, so the advantages may not be purely functional or visual.
  8. Oh, and has anyone ever asked the clients' HSE officer at their work site to explain what they are looking at and why, as they peruse your plethera of tickets??
  9. Love the bo#ll#ks. Since joining Europe you cannot get out of bed in the morning without a folder full of certificates declaring your competent in all the aspects of getting up!
  10. Then grind (quickly) as required....
  11. As a property owner, you are legally entitled to remove material which crosses over the boundary and is above your property. Therefor, you as the contractor, would be acting lawfully when fulfilling your clients brief. However! The pruning operations should not be of detriment to the health/wellbeing and ongoing safety of the tree in relation to its structure etc. Also, the tree is still the property of the neighbour after all, they may have a change of heart so get permission in writing from them prior to doing the work. This is what I believe to be the case anyway. From past experience being caught up in a dispute between neighbours is a pain in the butt.
  12. I normally find these things with my saw......
  13. ....Ben, go and buy one. You won't regret it.
  14. I'm with Ben. I think it's the same with all bridge type harnesses. The treemotions' use of a rope just makes it seem less able to deal with a bit of unintentional Silky action....
  15. Mmmmm, looks unnecessarily complicated. I reckon either use the 'd's (upper or lower) or come back to a single attachment additional to your main system on the bridge. Keep it simple as possible to keep it safe.
  16. The CE lanyard is one of the most versatile and useful bits of gear I have for climbing. No, it's not a replacement for a wire core, but it is a big step on from the old flip line/ 6' strop that filled the old work positioning role. Given time to 'break-in' or whatever, and with an open mind, most climbers will probably really appreciate having one. Give it time and experiment, you might grow to love it!
  17. Bought my 020 in '94. Still using it daily, as Stubby says, if you look after them then they last! This said, it'll be retired soon- quitting front line action while still ahead.
  18. Longer than 10metres?? might as well use a second system.
  19. Caught someone trying to take some tree cages last week! but it was OK because
  20. Nice machine man! Don't sell yourself short; that's more than a 'quick referb' there. A good number of hours I would suggest?
  21. Nice work man. Result is pretty good
  22. waist <30" ??? Are you a Hobbit?
  23. WD40 (other brands available)..... the answer to most things squeaky or electrical..?!
