  1. Thanks to you all. I shall get on the case and report back the results.
  2. No,a beech stands over a portion of the stand and some birch elsewhere but there is no variation in the density of this sooty covering. it only covers the overwintered leaves and as you can see, the new growth is clear at the moment.
  3. I have a 35c12 and love it although the tipping ram can be quite slow, especially when it's cold. In my case this is mainly due to the skinny hydraulic hoses which I am replacing soon. You can always get the ram changed, its not a massive job. I wish I'd kept the ram off my old LDV400, that would lift a house....it's somewhere in Poland now...
  4. Any ideas, I have been suggested a few possibilities but nothing seems certain. The client has actually 'washed' a smaller individual plant and it has not re-occured. This isn't possible en-mass and this is every-where it seems. I'm not necessarily looking for a treatment, a solid ident would be good, thanks.:confused1:
  5. I guess you will need to consider the distances involved too.
  6. mmmm... keep sharp. I spent weeks looking for a new chipper back in December. I noticed a trend with favourably priced chippers being sold by people who were 'away with work' when you asked to go for a look. After a while the same pics re-appeared as different chippers in different locations, their sellers were all working in Scotland and unavailable?? Coincidence?? As it turned out I didn't get a chipper back then but I would suggest paying cash/draft in person, once you have the chipper hitched to your vehicle. Doesn't help with your missing dough though, good luck treesloth.
  7. It's from the date they get it and log it, as IC says. My local authorities normally email an acknowledgment and give a specific date by which they will have responded. If that date comes and goes with no further contact from them then you can go ahead and carry out the proposed works. If they aren't that busy they may be quicker, but it still has to be given a set time for public consultation and parish council viewing and approval.
