  1. Found it, in Maryland, USA! Called a 'circus bowline' or 'farmers loop'. No idea what it's properties/strengths are. Thanks
  2. Thanks man, but it's not an Alpine butterfly, nor is it an in-line figure eight. It looks like some sort of mix between all of these and a truckers hitch but I've not seen one before and cannot find any reference....
  3. At circa 1:35 into this video, a knot is tied. What knot is it? Cheers

If you can travel as far north as Farnborough I can strongly recommend two people?
  5. Prusik loops have many uses, this is one of the most important. Sorry, can't move to get a closer shot.....
  6. 60cm armor-prus with HC setup for DdRT. Home made as I prefer a short one... Having said this is use a Zigzag now and my kids use the HC, so being short it's easier for them to reach.

    Parking

Don't you hate it when you turn up and someone has parked right under the tree.....
  8. Well I have now installed and used my new Sealey electric sharpener..... It doesn't seem to be as good as the Lidl one! The chain clamp is not as good and there is no work light (Lidl one has a light), early attempt at sharpening a 150 chain has resulted in a new chain being required ....... The bicycle brake style chain clamp setup is good but the actual clamp doesn't hold the chain securely so it tends to rise up.....
  9. I'm all sorted, thank you. My new one is already on its way.
  10. Replaced with tachyon and it's fine.
  11. Yes, I've sharpened everything from an MS880 chain to a 150's tiny chain on the same machine. Technically this may be wrong but they've all performed like new afterwards, and it beats hand sharpening any day (for ease).
  12. Thanks, I've ordered a Sealey one but the Clarke was no less an option. I'm replacing a Florabest Lidl (high end?) machine, which in fairness has lasted years and done miles of chain.
  13. Any opinions or experience of sub £100 chain sharpeners? Mine has finally snuffed it and I'm after a replacement. Thanks.
  14. I think I'm right in saying that this mother has just encased herself with her eggs, in order to provide her offspring their first meal when they hatch. ....if I'm wrong then I've just given her credit for nothing..
  15. One thing at a time! Saving that for next week......
  16. ...so while jacked up for replacing the bottom feed roller I figured I'd jet wash the underside..... never underestimate the value of good dirt to keep holes blocked. The cypress/silicone tape plug helped get the day finished...
  17. Thanks, will give it a go.
  18. Any suggestions on killing the root system? We removed three trees from a border two months ago and now there is an army of suckers! With numbers increasing daily....🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱😲
  19. Unwelcome early finish...... 😔
  20. If you need to 'skimp' on a sub £15 price of gear (which is quite an important component), your not being paid enough.......
  21. And having just Googled Snow Drop Tree it's obvious that I'm in the company of far more learned people! Thanks all.
  22. Here's an addition, after being back at the same site today we found these on Tree #3
