  1. eddy-t, a question for you, do you feel the need to renew your educational qualifications, or your driving licence, or any other certificates you have sat an exam and paid for, so why should cs be any different, or is it the fact you keep forgetting how to operate the eqiupment. I find it funny that all the sheeple on here jump to comply with the "ticket collector" attitude that seems to be coming into the industry, in fact Iknow of "training" companies that have stated " if you can come up with something we can charge for creating a ticket for, we'll pay you", I'm afraid the whole country, not just this industry, is falling under the spell of "your all stupid and you need us to tell you what to do" brigade, as I've said before I mourn the death of common sense, and as for your quip about first aid courses, I struggle to understand how a 1 day course on how to use the "green box" thats on the wall that everybody is expected to do has any relevance to the industry......Oh I've sliced myself with a chainsaw......best i stick a plaster on it.. doesnt work Im afraid, I actually had to go outside the UK to find a sitible trauma treatment course that actually contained some teaching that was relevant, till the whole ticket debacle is taken on board, and run by some body who will actually regulate it properly, and not just leave it up to "profit driven trainers" to police I will keep shouting on about it, there is too many "trainers" out there who, I'm sorry to say, dont have a feckin clue..........rant over, take out of it what you like, as I dont really care what you think
  2. any of the fullsize american built pickups will easily do the 3.5 tonne thing, there built to work, not like the so called 1 tonne things that have been foisted off on us ( the yanks rate all of these at 1/2 ton), and as a bonus there towing capacities are huge!!!!
  3. round up your choices, find somewhere that has them, drag your but along and try them, its the only way you'll find something that you like, and are comfortable working in
  4. do you renew your driving licence every 5 years......same thing....con by the trainers to steal your money, fisa is even worse, big boys toy box, and they dont want anyone else to play, bunch of greedy barstewards

    Unimog tyres?

mitas are hard to beat, price is good, MT3 is a good road comprimise, got the extra bits to keep road noise down without comprimising off road ability, if your not doing a lot of off road work, consider getting a set of 22.5" rims and running super singles, cheaper, quieter, longer lasting
  6. you need to strip the pump and check for scoring and wear on the end plates, this will cause cavitation and pulsing , depending on how bad, you might be able to hone it out, if not the pumps probably past it, again as has been said before, check rotation, although the arrow says one thing, its very easy to reverse the rotation of these pumps, and quite often isnt marked on the casings as having been changed, oil, either iso 30 or iso 46 should do, as will any 10w single grade oil, intake pipe work, rew new it as a matter of course, its a cheep fix to many other "problems"
  7. ranges from £250 to £400, depending on what, where, and how much assistance is available, plus any breakages (bands and chains)
  8. that hurricane is the reason your all stuck with the rules and regs that now plague us, so many fly by night, inexperenced, muppetts were hurt with chainsaws that H&S had to come up with a set of "rules" to cover there butts, and they've been getting stupider eversince
  9. some folk live on a different plain.......and some idiots pay it !!!
  10. it is for a boat, its an outboard motor, 4ltrs of v8 in fact, evenrude xp300
  11. that 2 way splitter was on display at the arb show 2 years ago, silly money, and didnt lend itself to CE certification( very difficult to work with a two hand lever on the split cycle)
  12. they dont like warfarin very much either
  13. get the rumtopf jar going..mmmmm
  14. the real answer to the question about landrovers...they market them as being "the best 4X4Xfar", then why is there a multi million pound aftermarket improving them, answer, cos there still using post war technolige, apart from slightly updating the engines, and trying coil suspension, they are still piles of crap !!!, no room in the cab(unless your a midget), rot in front of your eyes, no side impact protection, no wait there is, its your legs, factory fiddled towing capacities to make them attractive in the face of REAL FIGURES from the competition. I have never been able to comprehend why so many sheep love them, and dont start me on transits!!!!!!!.......rant over
  15. that is beech, 7years on the ground for sycamore =gloop, not timber
  16. K-seal might repair it, do a google search for companies doing block stitching, this used to be a common repair technique

    mini 4wd truck

tata is the same company who now make land rovers!!!!!!, and contrary to popular opinion, a lot of stuff coming out of china these days is of better quality than produced in the european union
  18. how much power is available at the pto on the 35, and at what pto rpm, your pump will need a method of ataching it to the pto, and probably gearing it up, pump size?, flow = speed of ram movement, psi = power of "push", have a google at "diy hydraulic log splitter kits" see what comes up
  19. drool.........lol
  20. vacume brakes?, thought the RB44 was air over hydraulic

    3 phase

depends on the use, speed control required = VFD, newton tesla, check there site on ebay, no speed control, a plain static convertor, same source, both types are expensive when your talking 4hp(3Kw)

  24. well, its finally arrived, have just sent an e-mail to FSC, informing them of a discovery of P Ramorum in our local wood, now waiting for them to get there guys out to confirm the outbreak, this will be the second discovery in our area this week, both small independantly owned plantations
