3500max including trailer, 750kg unbraked trailer, otherwise tow vehicle and trailer up to 3500kg, ie 2200kg vehicle, 1300kg braked trailer, as long as within vehicle allowance (you need to check vehicle plates for max weights)........the limits and what was allowed were never made clear as it suited both VOSA and plod to keep everyone in the dark

let them all sell it at there silly prices, hold onto your stock, and come the end of jan when nobody has any left, sell it for what you feel is a good price for you, there are lots of "muppets" jumping on the band wagon, they sell green wood at cheap prices, make a quick profit, and dissapear after one season, good suppliers have a client base that keeps coming back year after year

can anyone help me,I am trying to identfy the filters required for this tractor, it has a lombardini ldw 1404 engine, and has been a little neglected, all the markings have gone from the oil and desiel filters, and the little hydraulic one is rusty ! any help as to numbers that could be cross refrenced at a local factor would be great

has no-one actually looked at the design closley, they are designed for smaller diameter trees where your going to almost be spikeing on opposite sides of the trees

where the lever for working the three point linkage is, there is usually a facility to take an output to operate a single acting tipper ram( it works in conjunction with the three point linkage) have a good look in your manual, or check out other kubota tractors

the newer range of heamostatic products seem to be made up of non woven cloth impregnated with the "celox" type products, a lot easier to use, and not so frowned on by the medical folk in A&E the origonal celox granules could cause issues with anyone with a shelfish allergy, not very well publicised

how many of you that work in areas that re quite remote actually make a note of the gridref and/or lat/long readings of a site sutible for a helivac should it be required?, and know how to get a helivac in for a serious trauma incident

doing domestic work, you dont have any of the advantadges, white diesel, hgv reg, and "o"licence limitations, tacho restrictions, and all the normall crap that goes down this road, you would be a lot cheaper upsizing on your truck, look at any 4x4 7 1/2 tonner, and if you really want you can stick a pto on most of them for a chipper. you could try the agri route, but if you transgress just a little off the rules, and they are strict !!!, you will get hammered by VOSA and HMRC

very few first aid courses teach major trauma, most are based around the "big green box" first aid kit, you are going to have to find a specialist to even think about any specialist trauma courses based around chainsaw, and even they are going to be ltd

depending on timber species, between £12-£15 a tonne roadside, and you will need to put between 8-12 tonne a day on the road to survive, very difficult without some form of machinery for extraction

climbing ropes are for climbing, use them for rigging a job and they then become just that, rigging ropes. and if theres no qualified rescue bod on the team, no-one goes up the tree, it just isnt worth the risk, a quick written risk assesment and a method statment, and if he doesnt want to comply....walk away, do not put yourself at risk----for anyone..PERIOD

unless you have a lot of work dictating off road capability, the 7.5tonner is the better option, a mog only comes into its own when you can utilise its abilities, pto, hydraulics, etc, but it has its limitations in an urban role, and unless you have a first class mechanical know how, they can become very pricey to operate compared to a conventional truck

late into this, but lodgepole tips the scales at 39lb a cubic foot, its sometimes easier to work in old stuff cos its easier to picture a cubic foot than a cubic mtr when your looking at a bit of wood -
I use a a snipe cut a lot of the time on bigger timber that I dont want damaged by hitting the ground hard, just slides off and lays down gentle
