  1. I was in Rome and their common names for trees is a lot of the time very similar to the latin name. needless to say it took a long time and a lot of flicking through tree ident books to get the names right and now after almost a year back home i have forgotten them already:blushing: memorius crapicus I do agree though that we need the latin names as the internationally recognised names otherwise there would be a lot of confusion and mistakes.
  2. first glance i was going to say kretz as well but i got beaten to it
  3. or you could just look here Distel - Knots Guide | Arbtalk.co.uk
  4. so thats why your called BIG J! all that strong man stuff you would think you would use a real mans saw in the woods insted of those little toy ones you use:001_tt2:
  5. Never a daft question mate:thumbup1: I love the prussic and will always have one handy, i still use it on my flipline/side strop but i now use a spiderjack for my main climbing line. The thing with knots is more a self preference thing, try as many as you can and choose the one that suits you best. Some knots are good for some but others may hate them so its just what works for you. Welcome to Arbtalk and keep asking the daft questions:thumbup1:
  6. Great stuff and very inspirational.
  7. But i will say that i can never remember any latin names at all:blushing: granted i have a crap memory but latin names are so hard to get to stay in.
  8. i have been using the Arbortec gloves for the last month or 2, i dont use them much because i am usually climbing but i would say they have had about 1 to 2 weeks use and they are in pieces:thumbdown: all holes and the stiching is now falling apart so i wouldnt say they were any good either. Fact is that chainsaw gloves cost a lot and are real good when new but they just dont last long and thats every make i have tried
  9. I saw one similar once that suggested a canoe instead of swimming but i cant remember from where to where.

  14. Well said J you could pretty much buy everything you ever wanted with that kind of cash and set up your entire family for life. Not change anything? my arse! imagine no restrictions anymore because you cant afford it, you want to go see some part of the world you just go. That dream house you always wanted you can have a bunch of them in different countries. Sky diving, white water rafting, dune buggying, rally driving... You name it you can now do it without worries about being able to afford it. My life would become one big holiday and a cracking holiday it would be too.
