  1. How does it slow you down? its only a pain in the ass if your climbing up with it set up then you have to move both flipline and choker. i never have any problems with it and its simple. i like it simples:thumbup1:
  2. i am hurt! i even have a 20" bar on it too:001_tt2: its the only ground saw i have at the moment cos certain people wont give me thinnings to do so i can buy another one. i think an 88 next anyway if i used anything smaller than the 460 on the ground then i would feel a bit girly
  3. i have tears streaming down my face! haha that was fantastic guys
  4. try this one Protect your Income with Income Protect the advert is at the side of this page
  5. i use an ms 460 and would charge through your thinnings, know what i mean wink wink nudge nudge
  6. it doesnt look good:thumbdown: if the damage goes all the way round then the chances are everything above it will die. Keep an eye on it and if the leaves all go brown and dry then its time to get it down quick before bits start falling off it unfortunately. this is called ring barking and sometimes trees can recover from it but i wouldnt hold much hope. Being in school grounds then its best to come down i would say before something falls off it and hits a pupil.
  7. Thanks Gerrit David is there any reason they are not in the directory?
  8. the more i look at the first pic the more it looks like 2 brackets that have fallen but it didnt look like that when i took the picture i swear:blushing:
  9. no sorry i didnt think to lift it up cos i didnt want to disturb it. I thought it looked like the dog vomit one but it isnt. It was just a mass on the ground with no particular bracket shape to it.
  10. Here is a better shot of the one on the dead laurel branch, there wasnt space for it in previous post.
  11. first one you mean? and yes it is an old one on top of the stump but the spongy dude is different no?
  12. some fungal finds from today first 1 was on a sycamore stump and the second 2 were on the ground beside it, the last 2 were on a dead laurel branch lying on the ground. Sorry no idents cos my memory it terrible for latin names plus i have no idea what the spongy looking character is anyway:blushing:
  13. Few pics from today when i should have been having my lunch but i just cant resist the pull of things more interesting than a cheese and salami roll
  14. Good man:thumbup1: The thing with our job is we can sometimes avoid the balls up by running, jumping or even swinging out of the way if you see it coming. With electricity you dont see it coming and it can get you from a distance as well. One slight movement in the wrong direction with a swinging rope or pole pruner or branch or even your own body and boom the games over Play it safe guys and gals dont take risks with it or it might be your last:sneaky2:
  15. Shigo, Mattheck, Attenborough, Mears and a host of others but most of all i have the most respect and admiration for all the tribes that live in the rainforests or outback or wherever they may be living off the land and having mother nature as their cradle, that for me is the perfect life and what i think of as freedom 100%. I would rather be one of them than anything else and we could learn a lot from them.
  16. thats how i started and also how i got blisters every day it was the stretch on a long prussic up into the tree that was a killer when you slide the prussic up 3 or 4 times and you still havent gotten off the ground:lol:
  17. sounds like a great experience, if you ever have a space for one more to tag along i would kill for the chance
  18. I dont have a huge amount of fotos of me climbing unfortunately its mostly me taking the pics of others:thumbdown: My favourite i guess is my avatar pic here it is a bit bigger this time...
