  1. I hear you loud and clear mate! I have countless silky scars and not 1 chainsaw scar. Did you ever notice how you always get at least 4 cuts, never less but sometimes more:thumbdown: Take care and i hope it heals up quick so you can go get another one
  2. Bravo come sempre Giorgio Una domanda pero, Perche lasciata quello ramo per l'ultimo? Non era piu facile se taglia quando hai la corda in alto?
  3. must have tied about a million of them today but i forgot how this one was done so the rabbit came out the hole again. I did pick my nose a lot as well but that was just while the groundies cleared up below me:001_tt2:
  4. thought so, thanks hama
  5. Kretz? This is a Birch i took down today and found this inside, there was no fruiting bodies on the outside and the tree was pretty much in a good state except for a couple of bad pruning cuts about half way up that were brown rotting quite badly. The tree was taken down because it was leaning over a house, it wouldnt have been my choice to take it down but i am just a lowly freelancer. Once i saw that inside then thought maybe it was a good thing to take it out after all.
  6. YES!!! those Jedi are sneaky sods! i wouldnt trust them as far as i could throw them. And they just sit there saying things like "you did a good job" and "have double the cash" and you find yourself repeating it and giving them the extra!! Never again! i say send em back to their own planet, bloody leaches
  7. its only 4 movements so its not like its slow to tie anyway
  8. Your evil
  9. whats the hurry? the rabbit comes out the hole, round the tree and back in the hole again no problems cos nobody was wanting to shoot him or anything
  10. I heard that the wind turbines are a waste of money, your best with solar panels. The turbines take 10 times longer to pay for themselves than the panels or something like that.
  11. our legal system really is a joke, think about if these people do get sent to one of the holiday camps we call prison and they turn on their plasma tv to watch a program about some old pensioner in a care home. How much is that pond life going to be laughing at the poor old pensioner thats lucky if he even gets 3 square meals a day! then the scumbag will settle down to play his playstation and smoke a spliff while dreaming of the next robbery when he gets out ok rant over but i would say spiked pits on your side of the fence and a sign saying "enter at your own risk scumbag" on the outside.
  12. sometimes if i know the wood is going to hold on too long i nip off the hinge when the top i am cutting is about 45 degrees into its fall. that way it jumps off the stump and lands more or less horizontal.
  15. Umm yea:confused1: if "the flick" is what everyone else is thinking it is then yea i guess most people do it when practical.
  16. agreed:thumbup1: always use the half hitch as a backup
  17. clove hitch is good as well but it can get real tight and difficult to undo on the ground sometimes. i would still go for the bowline but when it gets to real big heavy stuff i will change to the timber hitch. They all work, its just preference and a bit of common sense with whatever situation you are in.
  18. cant hurt to try but if its anything like working in italy it may take you the whole 10 months just to get the paperwork you need to start work. i would say if its only 10 months then go for a kooshy job in a bar or something:thumbup1:
  19. it works the same but i prefer to tie the bowline every time because i dont trust the crab so much as the gate can open (very rarely) i still use that system sometimes anyway but when it gets to heavier stuff i prefer to use the knot as a preference
  20. running bowline does the same job as the steel crab but you just need to tie it every time.
  21. thats just a steel crab made into a choker with a half hitch backup
  22. yep running bowline and timber hitch are my 2 main knots used for rigging as well:thumbup:
  23. I spoke with the guy that made the kit on facebook once and he was very convincing that i needed one, I still would very much like to get one but i wont pay that price (short arms and deep pockets) All the stuff in it however is the best of kit and anyone with that kind of cash should get one. I cant see me ever buying one but i can see me making up my own kit very similar but with cheaper alternatives (like begging my nurse cousins to get me what they can). Just hope i never need to use it ever.
  24. Arbogrunt i know a couple of girls that could put a lot of guys off their lunch break with the clatty remarks that come out their mouth, so i dont see that as a problem. The problem i see is that i have never worked in a team with a female in it, in fact i have never even seen a female climber as yet in 20 years. Not entirely true because i did see one once filling up at a petrol station in Dunblane. This shows me that there is for sure a lack of females in the business and i would like to see more, well at least one. Ginja if you ever need an extra climber for a week i would love to come and help, more just to see how you roll than anything else:thumbup:
