  1. use a set square and place it across the bar and look down the bar and were there are are not leavel as you will see light under the set square and file off the high point these also ensures the they remain at right angles to the bar
  2. I just found this [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tTaZFTG8xjw]Snowstorm Aftermath - Part I - January 6, 2012 - Cordova, Alaska - YouTube[/ame] we cant complain about bad weather now can we
  3. what's on top of the bank in term of loads and it look like there is a differance in water leavels on both sides of the fence due to the fence stopping all the branches etc i would remove the obstructions so this dose not happen again, and if you look at the posts the bank has failed were they were driven in and it will most lightly have been the process of putting up the fence helped it fail, along with the water trying to get around the blockage, i would back fill with large stones and cap with soil to blend it in
  4. it not easy and I would not just look at machines but also operate them as that will tell you loads
  5. tig are thinner that the others
  6. i just found this on clarks tracks site http://www.clarktracks.com/assets/images/Track/Custom/Custom_SFL_Lite-Link_Image.jpg taking floatation to the extreme
  7. i would speek to fuelwood as they are the PINOSA dealers Pezzolato also make big machines as well as alot of the other makers, though your problem is your max diameter is quite small compaired to the big machines that are capibale of 10 tonne / hour so you will need quick cycles to match this output
  8. for the sort of volume you are looking at processing per hour is very large and for this reasion the machine would be only half my worries as you are not looking at one pice of kit but a hole production line, as 10 tonnes/ hour is 1 tone every 6 minutes so i take it what do you do with the processed wood (store and sell it) Byproducts handling ie sawdust splinters bark etc handling of the round wood to feed the processer Quality and type of timber being processed What Equiment do you have at the minute Your yard space and acess shed lay out Health & Saftey you may want to holding a limited stock pile of round wood in the yard (ie 2 weeks of timber), as it may be easier to have a lorry on the road all the time as you can load stright in to the processer off it Number of Staff Amount of Down Time that is acceaptable size of you stock piles of processed wood and how long they would last are you processing 6 days a week or one day a week Whats the total volume per year these are all question you have to ask your self, and you want to be looking at sawmill lines as what you are asking is huge , and as you say you want to run the machine for 4 hours a day at 10tonne per hour Minumm that is still 4 hours it sitting idle per day (8 Hour day) as it not continuos production, i would be looking at how you can up you up the running hours, because it not like wood is hard on plant you may want to replace a saw blade, but other wise there is next to no reasion for down time as they are very simple machines, so i would be looking at it as a production line as 2 guys could run it just about non stop by them selfs very easly ( one operating the machine and the other loading the in feed and handling the split logs) though 3 would make it easier, i hope it helps and goodluck
  9. ditto what steve says 1.5 ton is a waste of time with a hyd crane but it could work if you set it up with a wire crane and a clam bunk like the iron horse
  10. I will agree with that, Horses are good, and you don't have to spend loads carrying out repairs when compared to a machine
  11. neaver used them but there this might help http://www.grube.de/measuring-equipment/increment-pressler-s-borers.html?p=2

    Yum, Yum

nice one Marcus mum made loads of jam last year 24kg of cherries had to be de stoned they cost £4.80 though so we ended up running out of jars and it was the best thing as it was far easier when all the jars were the same now i just need some bees to get a Honey
  13. this will be a expensive BBC News - Wind turbine brought down in high winds in Devon
  14. concrete fails mainly were 2 slabs meet (and edges) as you are spreeding a load over a smaller area, therefore put your sub base under greater load. so for this reason you want to tie the slabs together but still allow expansion and contraction and if you are ending the slab in to a gravel yard make it a lot thicker and reinforce it at this point
  15. yep I agree I just posted the link as had come across it to day
