  5. go to one of the oil supplie compines and you probaly get old chain off them for free lol or peenuts that what i do. you got no shortage of places to choose lol like the mixer idea to though
  6. i would look at clarks other site for forestry Clark Forestry Engineering | Clark Engineering there worse than you think, but they easier on you wallet that you think to at times i would highly recomend them. and they dont make or sell junk which is brillent
  7. if you are a machine speek Wm clark and sons, aka clark forestry about tracks as they were one of the biggest manufacturer of band tracks in the world before they sold the tracks part off. looking have a look at clarks forestry site http://www.clark-engineering.com/traction-transport/forest-machine-track they do make a big differance but duel wheel are good to we had a trailed forage harvester we ran duel wheels on for silage.

  13. it is the most important process just about lol i also agee that the orgeon files are not as good any more
  14. i am jelous as as we face the same problem on some of our farm as they are reclaimed mud flats, and it only the grass holding you up as if you do get it out quickly your in troulbe as there over 300ft deep lol and you on them all the time for silage. have you concided a double drum winch usining one i line to hall the winch line back up the wood while winch out some at the same time.
  15. that what worred me about a longer crane, and the extra stress on the main beam, but the tractor size that may be solved but our sites have good acess in the way of soil condutions and despite the few steep bits which dont matter. the sites are very level. i know what you mean though.
  16. gladd to here it
  17. i buy a pack of 12 and a pack of 3 and use the just use the plastic poach to keep them in and stops them getting lost and i just replace the used ones there for i allways got 2 spare
  18. i am lucky in some ways as i can £30-35+vat per tonne + 20 for transport for someone to buy and get it to there yard but it costs me about £20 per tonne get to the road side then add the cost of processing is over £10/m3 it does not leave you much
  19. rember you will need acess aprox every 5 years for thining each block as you not clear felling it
  20. that is the problem most people dont understand that it can cost over £20 a tonne to get it back to the yard. then it getting it on the floor in the first place that before you process and takes kit to do it eficently as well so if you count you time in to the equation then be carefull as it is very tight margens for proffit. i would agree with hodge on this matter
  21. at most £8 a tonne as chip i would give you a word of advice it hard work, and not cheep your and you will have a lot of monney tied up in for over a year as in most cases this year as with most of the guys on here as they not sold it all
