  1. that what worred me about a longer crane, and the extra stress on the main beam, but the tractor size that may be solved but our sites have good acess in the way of soil condutions and despite the few steep bits which dont matter. the sites are very level. i know what you mean though.
  2. i buy a pack of 12 and a pack of 3 and use the just use the plastic poach to keep them in and stops them getting lost and i just replace the used ones there for i allways got 2 spare
  3. i am lucky in some ways as i can £30-35+vat per tonne + 20 for transport for someone to buy and get it to there yard but it costs me about £20 per tonne get to the road side then add the cost of processing is over £10/m3 it does not leave you much
  4. rember you will need acess aprox every 5 years for thining each block as you not clear felling it
  5. that is the problem most people dont understand that it can cost over £20 a tonne to get it back to the yard. then it getting it on the floor in the first place that before you process and takes kit to do it eficently as well so if you count you time in to the equation then be carefull as it is very tight margens for proffit. i would agree with hodge on this matter
  6. at most £8 a tonne as chip i would give you a word of advice it hard work, and not cheep your and you will have a lot of monney tied up in for over a year as in most cases this year as with most of the guys on here as they not sold it all

  12. it is 2wd and old and i knew i would need a pto pump, i was think 6 ton trailer would be soutable for our current 55hp but would like a tractor with min 80 hp on the farm any way
  13. Yes but if it is it will be very rare and our current tractor has no tail lights or trailer brakes but am looking in to replacing it any
  14. i am looking in to getting a forwadering trailer and crane but not sore what size would be soutable as i never had any dealing with any what spec would you go for in the way of controls as i am also condering a biomass head too ps the tractor is 55hp thanks

  17. i will say snaper are so under rated ours is 30+ years old and are so simple and simple to work on and they have stood the test of time as they still making them lol
  18. just your ppe will cost over 400, then add you hand tools 300+, saws 1000+, climbing gear 600, etc thats only £2300 it all adds up very quickly and the worst is that most of these things will have been replaced at least once in 5 years but more like twice, if you using it day in day out, and you still need your tickets and the groundy , strimmers, hedge cutters, leaf blower, truck, chipper, trailer, fuel incurance, road tax, wages, a yard and these are just the basic costs so, minum 15K but more like 20k if you buy relable gear
  19. sorry to here it. it sounds very bad 4 times in 12 months they just scum
  20. it better than what i was being offered
  21. cloth over the grill a good job as you want to reduce yor air flow over it nick
