  1. Ibuprofen is a anti inflammatory over the counter medication. Although this medication is good for sore muscles and can make some people drowsy, I could not knowingly provide my child much less any child such a medication to provide peace and quiet. Although I am not a Doctor my better half is a Registered Nurse here in Florida. She has told me that long term use can lead to gastric and intestinal issues for your child:thumbdown: Seriously think twice about giving such meds to your children for the sake of peace and quiet. easy-lift guy
  2. I live in a Two bed 1.5 bath home. My electric bill on average per month is $75.00. I changed out the original AC unit five years ago and that alone cut my electric by 2/3rds. TBH our summers our brutally hot and from May-October our AC is running more or less every day. Other than having our windows replaced with energy efficient ones Two years ago and having an on off switch installed for the water heater, we are blessed with low energy cost. Perhaps some day I will have solar panels placed on our roof to go completely off the grid, long term goal. Now if I could just steer them nasty Hurricanes and Tornados away from my neighborhood I will have it made!. easy-lift guy
  3. Wow!, bet she had a good talking with herself later on after the shock sets in. easy-lift guy
  4. Folks, you all have to remember that these programs are "reality based". Translation= Actors following their cues from the directors and producers. O yes these companies may well exist but for the most part in the real business world most would never exist much less survive without sponsorship and revenue generated by cable companies buying the series in the first place. I have tried to watch these series and it just got to phony for me to quick, IMO. For those die hard fans, I would buy up the series when available since I doubt most of these series will last beyond normal syndication. easy-lift guy
  5. Could you tell the folks back home how you really feel:lol: easy-lift guy
  6. I understand Denmark is relatively small from a land mass point of view. Just curious how much heat is generated via electric and what condition their existing power grid is in? easy-lift guy
  7. The video speaks volumes. Until the tree becomes a serious problem for foot or vehicle traffic I believe more of the same will be in store for this old tree. Time and continued soil compaction is not on this trees side. easy-lift guy
  8. Since the tree continues to lean one direction and your concerned about the hedge damage, it may happen in your life time but the tree will fall over some day. From a preventive maintenance point of view I would remove sooner than later. easy-lift guy
  9. Well worth the wait. Thanks or sharing. easy-lift guy
  10. A national data base could and should be set up for all hand held equipment. The resistance on the part of manufacturers is sad for the consumer. I believe greed on behalf of the manufactures and insurance companies are driving forces against a national data base. For reasons already stated the police have their own opinions and reasons against a national data base as well. Private industry can and has help fill the void, however unless the manufacturers and the insurance industries along with the Police pull together the results will remain the same and even worse. easy-lift guy
  11. littlerob, I respectfully disagree with your opinion about where much if not all of the stolen property is ending up. Although I have not been a member of AT for very long I am and shall remain convinced that organized crime is the main driving force behind so much theft. The amount of money raised by stealing metal is limited to supply and demand, same for saws and other kit. The main difference is stealing a finished product for immediate sale out of the country as opposed to stealing metal and having to deal with a paper trail and in most cases metal is sometimes more dirty and cumbersome to transport. It seems to me from the other side of the pond that the Police are either understaffed or under budgeted in the UK. Apathy and political correctness are rampant on either side of the Atlantic, I believe all of the above are contributing factors for the many thefts that occur and remain unsolved crimes. Based on conversations I have had with many members about this subject it may only be safe to keep all of your hand held kit locked up where you sleep every night. At least you might have a better chance keeping what you own longer. easy-lift guy
  12. Your reply speaks Volumes for the degree of apathy or little or no regard for a companies equipment being in proper and safe working order. Removing the operator or supervisor from the equation is a mute point since the equipment had a known mechanical defect while still being used:thumbdown:. easy-lift guy
  13. Paul I was just reading over your Second paragraph which states" clearly in this instance the company knew of the defective chipper and hence it shouldn't have been used But in so doing, as is often the case they should have ensured extra safe guards were in place". At least over here Two wrongs never make a right. Weather it be H&S for the UK or OSHA here in the US, I believe this accident would and should of happened due to the gross negligence on the part of the owner of the business and defective and dangerous equipment knowingly being used. Providing additional safe guards for a piece of equipment with known defects is no solution to an accident waiting to happen. easy-lift guy
  14. Document all and submit for total reinbursment. easy-lift guy
  15. I agree. Felix I find your story sad and typical. If you have a homeowners policy or renters insurance contact them ASAP. I believe you will continue to be frustrated and annoyed by dealing with a Gas company to fix a plumbing problem. I believe the sub contractor should be carrying general liability insurance?. Since you ave documented the matter very well I would file a claim against all parties concerned. Hope you have a positive outcome. easy-lift guy
  16. I guess it is all relative. Here in the US we have 3.64 million bow hunters, of course most them I am sure hunt on foot, only because the horse drawn cart is a little impractical as well as noisy:sneaky2:. easy-lift guy
  17. Unless of course your a lousy shot. Before fire arms I believe bow and arrow was the preferred means of taking down game, unless Tesco's were around back than? easy-lift guy
  18. Please tell me why, unless it has something to do with being humane or the need to attach a silencer to the bow or H&S is involved?. easy-lift guy
  19. I have seen clips of this tripe over here and TBH it is a real pity and or distraction from reality. With the numerous problems most people face in this country, I mean people that actually work for a living and have a life. Gerrrrrrrrrr! easy-lift guy
  20. I am afraid that your suggestion could lead to the Zombie Apocalypse that the authorities have been warning about. Now that would be a scary thought!. Of course on the bright side, with the right management and enough ammo this could prove to be very sporting:thumbup1: easy-lift guy
  21. Actually old news. Chemicals and compounds have been and will always be found in and around water sources. Some are natural others are not. Really important question is how well can these substances be filtered from our water sources:sneaky2:. Work in progress. easy-lift guy
  22. Human Veal anyone?, them folks at Tesco are always coming up with something new! easy-lift guy
  23. Yes, funny and to the point. easy-lift guy
  24. Sounds like amateur night. I am glad you were able to recover your transport. easy-lift guy
  25. Steve is correct about people hacking into a web-site. A few years back I found one of my sites hacked into and the person or persons responsible actually contacted me and attempted to extort $$$$$ out of me. I contacted the hosting company responsible for maintaining and securing my site and their response was, "We suggest you change your pass word". I asked should I be concerned about anything else, and their reply was unless your site is being bombarded by porn or the like I would not worry about it?. Probably some kid wanting to make some money off of you!. The lack of concern for a company who I trusted and also received a large amount of $$$$ over the years of my doing business with them really destroyed any faith I had with them. Yes I did sack this same hosting company within 24 hours and secured another company which allowed myself and my IT guy to monitor and change as needed, all aspects of my website. A more hands on approach was required and I am glad the lesson learned was not to costly. Steve to his credit has invested a tremendous amount of emotional/financial capital to create and maintain ArbTalk along with the Mods. No easy task, but one I understand and appreciate having done that and been there. easy-lift guy
