  1. Morning not much chance of frost here, pissed down all night and forecast till dinner, anyone seen next weeks forecast ?? it is looking very good from sat onwards,,lets see how right they are !!
  2. Morning all,, yesterday was a sign of May be what's to come weather wise, farms mowing grass all round here, choppers, tractors n trailers going in every direction, talking to one lad yesterday and his sisters fella had done a straight 30hrs shift chopping maze from 8am Sunday till 2pm Monday, every credit to em all, as I think this small weather window we have could be the last chance saloon 🤔
  3. Morning,, had a busy wk end rubbing down and painting truck cab while the temps are up,,going now to put last coat of paint on it,,
  4. Its a wounder there was any rain left in them clouds by time it got to you,,, 72mm here in 36hr,,
  5. Oh dear,, that in my book is down the Rd matey, just say something happened where someone else got hurt where would you be be ?? you could save yourself a load of hassle and get rid of him,,
  6. Stump gringing I know very little about TBH, only thing I know is hire shop up Rd has one and it seems to be out often,, and lad next door but one drives one but that's about 600hp strapped to it,,
  7. Only thing you can do is try, different parts of the country will be way different from yours,, please correct me but are you SW Scotland ?. I tried this about 10 Yr ago and TBH I got one enquiry,, this was advertised in a small tool hire shop as well, the guy in the shop said he got asked if he had a log splitter regularly and would just point the add out on the wall,, The splitter I made is quit quick and I can get 2 IBC crates split in an hr if it's reasonable timber and its behind me in rings,, I think the biggest issue is most potential customes can't visage what you could do in half or a full day,, Then again areas will matter as well, where I am most people will be just average working people but go 35 mile down the Rd and your on the outskirts of Manchester with loads of professional pen pushers/office people, now that would be different but it's them people who would have a stove fitted and just use it over the Christmas holidays as they won't get there hands dirty pushing a button on the boiler,, I think it's just a try it and see what happens,,,
  8. Yes I am fine here,, its the village where Nicola Bully went missing,, about a mile n a half from me,,
  9. Morning , well another wet shitty blustery morning here,, I think it's rained for near on 36hrs now and still chucking it down, the village just down the Rd has been put on a Amber flood warning by the EA,,

    HS2 Over

Personally I think it should of never been started and the money spent elsewhere like on the road (cart track) network we have and flood defences,, we can't run the trains we have now yet alone another lot,, This is from a freind who works on HS2 and in his words,, he goes down to Kent gets put up in a travel lodge, works in a shitty wooden office on a site, come Friday afternoon he gets back in to London to gets train back to Preston and sorry but all cancelled till 6am, so book in to another hotel in central London then get his train morning after, Friday night he should of been out with his wife n kids but it's 11am sat morning when he gets home, parking has run out on train station car park so that's another problem and expense he has to sort out, When the cancellation was rumoured a few wk back I asked if it woukd affect his job, his words where not f******,g bothered I am sick of working with clowns who know FA and get paid 10 times more than me,, if I can't get a train from Euston to Preston on the West Coast main line on a Friday afternoon there not much chance of some one going from London to Glasgow is there,, this guy and myself bothe said there are massive issues ahead for HS2 and one thing for sure I have predicted frombthe start with it is that it will definitely go down on the history books as on of the biggest white elephants in British history !!.
  13. morning,, we have had all most constant rain here since mid afternoon yesterday, just been out and looked in my tub and there will be towards 30mm in it and guess what its still pissing down, due to clear out about 1ish,,
  14. Morning,, well stayed at home,, painted my parts for truck, put TV on fell asleep, went back and painted parts again, made tea put superbikes on that was recorded and fell asleep again ☹️
  15. Might be doing that, world and British super bikes are on TV, but got some bits of truck to paint at home so I think it's get them done today,,
  16. Morning, been absent last 2 days, had a couple of busy days here while it was dry,, started raining yesterday about 1pm and still fooking raining, OK its not as heavy as yesterday but its still wet, can't make my mind up to either stay at home today or go down yard after dinner for 4 or5 hrs 🤔,
  17. Personally I find arb waste a night mare to process compared to nice clean straight bought in timber,, then you have the down time to consider with hitting metal and various othere items,, with bought in timber you can make a nice uniform product, but as with arb waste if its soneone else's who don't give a ×××× what timber or size they are tipping off fir you,, I do try to avoid othere people's waste niw a days,,,
  18. morning,, all calm here this morning and its quit warm, i havent heard of any tree damage as yet,, but TBH i dont think the wind was what they said it was to be and we didnt get the 4/5hrs of heavy rain either,,
  19. Morning, warm Hazy sun shine and not a breath of wind here at 8,30, but changing a bit now with cloud cover thickening and that wind starting to pick up, rain n wind from late morning for us today,,
  20. Well isla been here 6 wk tomorrow and I don't know where that went ??, she growing and learning fast and like most labs I have had she has the habit of collecting anything she can find, today we had a stick, a piece of beech bark, a log and a piece of cardboard, all was going well until our resident collard dove came in to the building so isla just watched it for 5 mins then back to the stash,,,
  21. Morning, after a stunning day yesterday looks like today could be simulare but with a bit of wind and a odd shower towards dark,,
  22. Morning, bright and sunny here with a good day ahead,, Was blowing yesterday that carried on well in to darkness with a bit of that damp stuff mixed in as well,,,
  23. Morning, bit different than yesterday here, yesterday was cool n bright then warmed up just after dinner, today warm and dull, done a bit off drizzle so far but some heavey rain forecast this aft, 😟
  24. Morning, had a busy one yesterday with a late finish, they say every day is a school day and one thing did learn yesterday is don't put your gloves down when Isla is about, 2 Pair disappeared yesterday,,
  25. Nice rig that Doug, what's the reach/height on it ? It looks as if it's decent lift and reach to me,,
