  1. Of all the things to spend yer cash on, you would waste it on a piece of plastic on the front (and back) of a lump of tin??????????????????????? So I can therefore presume that NOT ONE of you in the future will complain about customers wanting jobs done cheaper, or about the price of stuff USEFUL to you in carrying out your business when you are obviously earning enough (or as a family group) to fork out for status plates on yr vehicles.
  2. This thread just makes me sad.
  3. Rojek are well known in the woodworking industry, not bad gear apparently.
  4. Do it by hand, but get someone to show you the correct way to sharpen (not your mate the farmer from the village unless he has his 'tickets'). You will actually enjoy sharpening once used to it. Enjoy maybe is a too strong word but it is very satisfying. Make sure you get decent file holders, NOT the ones that hold the files with spring clips. Also be aware that the type of chain you use (chisel, micro-chisel etc) vary in degrees of difficulty in sharpening to get 100% performance. You will soon get up to speed on it
  5. Fry onions carrot chopped finely in pan. Chop turkey left-overs up into 1" bits. Add to pan then a bit of thickened stock and put in pies made with 'hot water pastry' (but use SR flour). A1 pack-up fayre. BTW 'bum-surfing' is usualy a sign of congested anal glands. Time 4 the latex gloves me thinks.
  6. Phew...............Thought this was a link to the Stephen Lynch song, 'For the Ladies'. Not one for the faint hearted.
  7. Oddly enough I was talking to an old(ish) Canadian chap who is into his trees/logging etc and who is over here to see his in-laws for xmas. I mentioned Ice Road Truckers and he said he knew one of the guys from the early days of the show, and went on to mention some of the stuff which was done to cause the truckers 'problems'. Made 'better TV' they said. Still like wathching it tho.
  8. A variant here........... no idea of any details but seems a very small motor. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5Rk47sV2zk&feature=related]Drti? v?tví - YouTube[/ame]
  9. Daily Mail in Misleading Headline Shock!
  10. Biscuit time again! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxqQtUQErhQ]Its Cliched to be Cynical at Christmas by Half Man Half Biscuit - YouTube[/ame]
  11. Surprised the 'osses didnt get jittery, the chaps were probably being served some of their horses mates
  12. Cheers, will give em a buzz.
  13. I would have thought 3m spacings were about right. I am about to plant a small coppice and that seems about the suggested distance.
  14. Just a couple more if I may..... Are you putting green wood through and seasoning in the vented sacks, or already dry stuff? What about blade wear, changing blades etc?
  15. topping strops , chainsaw strops or hangmans noose for your missus
  16. How about a crop for us to eat, instead of importing 'foreign' food?
  17. Love the idea of this bit of kit, BUT how well does it feed on gnarly/bent bits?
  18. Filled empty saws (346xp and Echo Power-pruner) with Aspen yesterday. Bit scared but no problems. No adjustments seemingly needed. As for the smell, didnt notice any difference, although that may have had something to do with the fact I was working on top of an exposed floodbank in 40mph+ wind:biggrin:
  19. If you have a trawl round Ebay, you can find the plastic 'snap-on' bits that 99% of rope dog leads are made with. Nae splicing required. (Not sure why I dropped into Scottish typing there:confused1:)
  20. Its because of cretins like that, that the rest of us have to put up with so many 'health and safety' rules.
  21. If this is so and I am presuming by 'dead' you mean it can no longer be transmitted all suitable larch should be converted to fence posts etc, as it lasts longer than the pressure treated rubbish available at the mo. Surely a 'green' option.
  22. If its similar to mine there are 2 screws fastening the handle on, which you access from inside, they are under rubber plugs. You should be able to take these out and remove handle which engages bolt mechanism via a 'square' stub, as in a normal door handle. You can buy new ones from Truckman if its brokken'.
  23. Wind, what wind? Just a sudden rise in temp this morning and flash floods from melt water. Highest ever recorded level on R Swale.
  24. Latest wind speeds here............Wind Map - Britain Observations
  25. Tiree gusts to 86mph so far
