  1. I access with SRT, (I use a very basic gear set up) because it's physically much easier. Once I have my TIP i work with SRTWP because I find it physically easier and on spready trees, especially multi stemmed, the advantage of redirects is immeasurably easier.
  2. Oh, just saw that you said you will be building your own. My bad.
  3. I used these: Solent Body Builders | Commercial Vehicle Body Builders and Repairers, CCTV Cameras and Signage | Accident Repair Service and they were about 60% cheaper than Tipmaster, the product and quality is identical. Speak to Steve and tell him Alasdair sent you and he'll really look after you well.
  4. Yes Morbark have just bought them. I'd see that as a good thing although it won't translate to anything in Britain I suppose.
  5. Exactly. All you need is enough desire.
  6. Also this video of it is worth a view
  7. It's not a Boxer but it solves the problem of transporting all the gear with one truck, as long as your truck and chipper are big! I think it's brilliant so I thought i should share.
  8. Well done to both of you. The first thing I did after the 20wk scan was buy one of those toy Stihl chainsaws.
  9. My ambition for next year is to smile more. Seriously, my circumstances (brought on by my own decisions) have created a lot of stress for me. I never used to believe in stress and was a very good manager of my own emotions, now I have a permanent scowl and I'm concerned about the example I set for my young children. I need to reassert a positive mental frame for myself and be less uptight, I feel like a coiled spring and I know I can get back my softer side. In the mean time, I'm going out now to get hammered so that I'll be in a really bad mood tomorrow. Confused? Yes I am. Good luck everyone and keep safe.
  10. That's it in a nut shell. Also, support the UK economy, regardless of how messed up it is.
  11. No I wasn't. BUT NOW I AM!! Weheey the lasses!
  12. It's real magic! You'll get no presents from Santa next year if you carry on like this. "If you don't believe you won't receive"
  13. If he has the motivation, tenacity and no ego, he'll be ok. Wish him well.
  14. Forget photos Durham, I want more pics of those two 'singers', only the red head actually.
  15. God damn it! Just when I thought I didn't have to buy anything else!!
  16. I tried that but it was really uncomfortable. It probably has has a lot to do with the different boots we all wear and how each person walks. By that I mean ankle shape etc. In any case, it's important to find what feels good for you and go with it.
  17. Oops, the downfall of text communication mate. I didn't mean it that way, sorry. Anyway, It works out well for me some of the time and is a pain the rest of the time. Hence the thought of three or two different lengths. I love the Cinch especially now I have it on 10mm. It was awful on 11mm. It just really suits what I want to feel in my gear. Keep safe.
  18. I wouldn't rate a self employed climber until I knew what he can produce in a day. I've met plenty of guys that can produce plenty, from their mouths. The difference between a good climber and a good tree surgeon is like the difference between the sun and Pluto!
  19. As I said "natural progression for me" These are always personal things. You contradict. But as we all know, Each person has their own style based on what they desire to suit their needs. Deerman is the guy that got me thinking about the long lanyard that can be used as an SRTWP line. He has a 10m lanyard. I think I'll end up with a short medium and long lanyard. The Cinch will be perfect as there are no knots or a pulley or hitch cord to fiddle with to change lanyard rope.
  20. Paul said that the Beeline fits well into the case. He tried the others and this worked best.
  21. That's not a wasted post Adam I didn't feel the need to change lanyard, its been a natural progression for me. Using SRTWP means it can be a bit tricky getting back from long skinny branch walks, as you know. I got fed up using RADS to help and found that a long lanyard choked to a branch above creates another SRTWP system. The Cinch works perfectly for this. I chose the Cinch because its smaller and cheaper than a Grillon. A DMM thimble on a Prussik loop enables easy retrieving as I don't have to choke up to the branch if I can't reach it. A longer lanyard trailing about is more hassle but the very second Ropetek start selling the Sidewinder, I'll be getting one to deal with that problem.
  22. This is my lanyard now I climb SRTWP. 5m of 10mm Yale Silversteak. Trango Cinch. ISC 3way swivel snap. When I climbed DdRT: 3m of 13mm XTC. ISC Rocker. ISC 3way swivel snap.
