1. I agree with Scots Pine on the issue of strap position in relation to bollard position. However, I have a Stein Dual and notice that all the Stein bollards have the strap in line with the bollard and they work fine.
 2. Wow. What HP is the tractor? Tom2020, I've got something she'll get a better ride on but it won't be comfy! (Assuming you're referring to the girl in your avatar)
 3. Hahahaha. This has happened before on a different thread!
 4.

Hi Ian

I bought it from Ropetek direct. I can't tell you how much it cost as I bought two and a Highball, then there is the postage.

Email Paul Cox at Roptek and he'll sort you out.

If we lived close I'd say come and try mine or if you find yourself near here pop in, I have a fantastic Oak out the front.

I really can't say if it's better or not as I've had mine such a short time but it certainly suits my style better and I think it would suit most people better too. Time will tell.

I'm sure you wont be disappointed though.

Only tip I can give is to tie the hitch up tight. Get the stopper as close as possible, bounce a few times and it's good to go. Micro adjustments make a massive difference and you can change it from gripping fine to total freefall with just a few mil of adjustment on the hitch.

Saying all that, this micro adjustment is what makes it so sweet for me as It's so easy to get it precise every time.

 5. Where can you get them though and how much? There always seems to be confusion on those two questions.
 6. Where did the rubber mounts come from?
 7. Good point Drew. Thanks for remembering to point it out. I often do that either with a Prussik or sling & Karab onto an Alpine Butterfly on my rope. I use which ever suits the system best.
 8. Christmas is for the erm, children, honest.
 9. Here's my top photo of all time. Sorry, it's Rhona Mitra not a tree but it is Xmas!
 10. Christ sake Ewan, it was a joke! There is no DRT v SRT argument as far as I'm concerned. One style suits one person more than the other. Each to there own. Can I be let off now please😢
 11. One of my guys used to use an O Rig and really liked it but because he was always in small to medium trees he also found the change over a bit tiresome. A sling was easier for him. I used to use a sling under my Lockjack too (although I'm scared to mention it incase DrewB looses it with me:laugh1:)
 12. Calm down. I simply had never made a significant tweak to my DdRT gear, except buying a lockjack. It was clearly a joke IMO. No offence taken.
 13. The best tweak I made to my gear was to stop climbing DdRT. Sorry.
 14. I just bought one of these because it's small and very convenient to use. As previously said, it's the coffee that makes good coffee but apparently you do need a machine with high pressure. https://www.dolce-gusto.co.uk/EN/machines/Pages/all-machines.aspx
 15. It's exactly what Dan Curtis just described. The only thing I don't like about my system is my foot loop. I've got a DMM ring to choke the loop to my foot so that my foot doesn't slip out and setting it annoys me. My loop is too long and I have not bothered to adjust it but i'm thinking of getting a Metolius daisy chain, like dcoffey showed in his video. I like the idea if using the HH as a hand ascender. Do you guys set up with say, left hand ascender to right foot or left hand to left foot? Does that make sense?
 16. I just found this and thought of you guys. I've posted it here because I think the tether is awesome. What do you think?
 17. Wimp. Actually I'm gonna log off in a minute cos i've got my vodka jacket on now and Bullman will ban me if i'm still posting in 30 minutes. Also I'm off to a party.
 18. Right on mate! See you back on the "favourite girls" thread in a mo
 19. in the not too distant future there will be only eight large global companies, having bought out all of the competition: Tesco, Santander, Walmart, Petronas, Fiat, Lockheed Whitney, Exon and FR Jones!
 20. NPTC tickets won't teach anyone how to prune a tree. A very knowledgable expert on the ground or in the tree with him is the ONLY way he'll do a good job. Or, start work now as a professional tree surgeon then come back to his own tree in eight years to do it right. There is NO WAY that it is possible for anyone to explain in a few lines of text (or even a few hundred pages) how to prune a tree correctly. I was not born with my knowledge and abilities, I've had to learn. Sorry.
 21. Ok so now we have our first live one! Someone with the experience instead of speculation. Can you elaborate Munkymadman? How far did you go with your novices and what exactly were their problems.
 22. I think I see where you're coming from but I don't agree that strength is an issue. If a person wants to become a tree surgeon, their strength will develop. Climbing SRTWP is a lot less physically demanding than DdRT in my opinion. I've been climbing SRTWP for nearly 11 months and am only now getting to a point where I'm becoming efficient with it. This is due to having to retrain brain and muscle memory so, back to the OP, a trainee shouldn't have an issue. To reinforce the point I climbed with DdRT and a Prussik last week. What a horrific experience. I'd forgotten quite how retarded it is but the biggest surprise was how my body didn't know what to do!
 23. 😂😂😂 Brilliant!
 24. Definitely. I'd be first in line if I hadn't just bought a Hitch Hiker!
