Hmmm, To chime in with a complete outsiders perspective, those who climb mostly, overlarge, overage, rotten and hazardous trees to cut chunks off, bytimes overlarge chunks, with powerful sharp and potentially lethal tools, as fast as possible, in ALL weathers, because so many are self employed, and mostly with an excess of youthful testosterone, alcohol and drugs.(this impression formed by reading this forum for a good number of years) HAS to be one of the most hazardous jobs out there. Zero moisture ingress or rust folks. The removable baffle plate, the middle bit, was replaced when it warped and refused to seat properly. The brother tells a good story, a modern day parable of sorts; About the wee country man from Ballycastle who cuts half his arm off, with a chainsaw, of course, and after self-adminersted first aid, continued his work until quitting time, when his sister insists he really should perhaps go to the Hospital. So he drives himself to the local A & E, where he is ignored for hours and hours and hours, until during a lull, a Nurse sees fit to enquire if he had been seen yet.? This story was told to the brother by an experienced exasperated Nurse, who had had a lifetime bellyfull of stupid hysterical people phoning unneeded ambulances and creating an unwarrented fuss, over minor issues, while the truely ill were left ignored in all the noise and fuss. And, anecdotally only, but on reflection it tests true, at least here in NI, patients abusing the NHS, its Dr.'s and free prescriptions, to prove how ill/sick/disabled they are, in order to qualify/requalify for DLA/PIP. And mental Health issues are now being sagely exploited because of the difficulty in medically disproving their exaggareted, much exaggareted or downright spurious claims. Sad, but true.

Somewhat indicative of some of the issues plaguing the NHS in respect of service delivery would be an NHS employee who saw fit to take last Friday and Monday off on the sick, on full pay of course, while still being well enough to attend the staff Christmas "do" on the Friday Night, needless to say splashing photos of he "big night out" all over FaceAche, and was then truely insensed at being written up for(and I cannot quote the exact terminology) such misconduct. She also has a history of such behavouir with her previous NHS employer btw. But the NHS HR department fucked-up the internal(to the NHS) transfer paperwork, so now she gets a fresh start. The staggering and uneeded workload created by alcohol and drug abuse is another un-addressable issue. Never mind the smoking/vaping, staggeringly poor diet, and lack of exercise causing needless and easily avoidable health problems for a significent proportion of the not insignificent numbers of the uncaring and mostly uncontributing population. All conflated by sometimes impotent and sometimes incompetent management, in a vast and unmanagable organisation. BUT My emergency(and idiopathic) pancreatitis treatment was 1st class, except the routine non-emergency stuff suffers as a result of these emergency demands. And A & E in the this same Hospital is absolute SHITE. But the Radiological ( "x" rays and CAT scanners etc) within the Hospital is superbly well run, I can only surmise due to whoever is in charge of that particular Department. Marcus
