Gents, The previous and longstanding NHS attitude to PPE and other medical supplies was and is unsustainable, the prolifigate use and wastage, never mind downright theft(of masks and gloves by the carton, in the early days of the pandemic) cannot be provided for. Plus the possibility/probility staff contracted the virus outside of their work. There are many dedicated and very good NHS/nursing staff, there are also a significent number who are neither good nor dedicated, but again, what are the highly paid managers actually doing?

Having bought a £50.00 Parkside out of Lidl, I agree, the softgrip rubber fell off the various surfaces very quickly, and the tool, 1 of a set also bought from Lidl, broke in the chuck when I was chiseling and left the chuck impossible to dismantle. Left with zero faith in the Parkside brand, (well that and the cheap/nasty/doncy/shaky/unsatisfactory Parkside table saw I bought and returned once I had seen it out of the box). My project is clearing the wind thrown Sitka from the first, now 40 year old stand, only about 1000m up the rodden at the back of the house, only for very expensive/labour intensive firewood, but fingers crossed the trees still standing will not blow down, and there will be a nicer section of more open conifer woodland for posterity. I already went through the 10 or 15 acres of Birch and "freed-up" the volunteer Oak and Beech, for the 2nd or 3rd time, from competing trees and vegetation, again simply for my current satisfaction and the future enjoyment of others. And actually started to build up a little cardio vascular stamina, for the first time in 30 years! After the fierce wind yesterday, it is absolutely glorious bright and sunny here today. Especially for loader work, and credit to JD, they had some very clever but simple to use electronics sharing the hydraulic flow between the wheels and the loader, that prevented spinning or stalling or bogging the engine down and all while working the loader to the max effect, called Powermatch or somesuch, it certainly was very very effective.

I really really, REALLY wanted a hydrostatic drive tractor(and a 4066 J Deere would have been rather nice) having specced and purchased a hydrostatic JD with a loader for work( a 3 series with about 45HP) which was a phenonomal wee tool, but hey-ho, it was not to be, and I get on fine with the geared EX50.

I carefully hand "levelled" enough to put the right sidethrow below the rear wheels, less than 2.0m,then levelled the rest of the 31 tonne with the EX50, using the bucket tipped vertical in 1st gear and mark 1 eyeball referenced off the batter on the kerbs, finished by "tickling" with the empty linkbox, it actually looks better to the discerning human eye than my wee camera can properly capture. Left near-enough 100mm low for asphalting. The 2 "D's" in front of the bay windows will be finished with pink granite. Marcus

However, how often are we, or "they" going to test HNS nd other staff directly involved, every day, before they start their work, since, unless they, the staff, are going to be kept in sterile accomodation, they stand a chance of catching it between shifts. Imho, the whole lockdown thing is unworkable, and we may have to/might have been better to have accepted that the virus will run its course. And less hysteria about deaths, shit happens. With revised protocols for NHS staff and how often they change masks/protective clothing. From someone with a daughter working directly with Covid paitents, an 87 year old mother, and a 55 year old wife who has quietly assessed that she would not qualify to be put on a ventilitor, due to her underlying health issues. I have zero time for the sleazy big bollox, BUT, it perhaps highlights the fact that the courts are currently overwhelmed with dubious "rape" cases, especially those of this nature only being reported and investigated years after the alleged transgressions. Which should have been dealt with at the time by the woman concerned, without recourse to the Courts.

But one will still be proscuted, fined and points, for motoring offences, with no option of speed awareness courses! Hypocrit much!
