  1. Mark, See, THAT is exactly why I have reason to be concerned about the gullibility of the human herd. That this is even deemed to be worthy of note or "reporting" is even more depressing. But like Politics, tis all a question of perspective innit!

    Booze

    My favourite beer!
  3. No PTO's though, though I suppose hydraulic drive is an option?
  4. Yet, oddly enough, despite my being VERY strongly right handed, I wear out the left glove of any pair, so I got a whole collection of good right gloves, but no matching lefts, probably because I retain the tool in my right hand and scrabble about/manually handle with my "free" left hand.
  5. At 60 I think? I only had influenza once, I felt like someone had given me a kicking with the resulting ache in my bones/muscles, definately different to the common cold that most twats assert is "the flu" they are "dying" from.
  6. Definition of EXTRAPOLATE WWW.MERRIAM-WEBSTER.COM to predict by projecting past experience or known data… See the full definition And by deduction those who cannot . . .
  7. Nice! Took me a split second to appreciate the joke.
  8. Very interesting, or trust the bloody Yanks to find an obvious solution, with respect to the 2nd, intermediate hook, to catch my smaller dia logs. Kudos!
  9. Even more important, a mans gotta ken his woods limitations?
  10. Most of them, yes, due to any slightly out of the ordinary 'lurgy, this year, or perhaps next.
  11. I bought a Peavey offf M Large years ago, the biggest one, to get the longest shaft for maximum leverage, me being a scrawny runt. BUT! It cannot grip my smaller dia logs, so "horses for courses", so I need to buy another one(and I should probably actually fabricate my own)
  12. Lord God Mark, make your mind up, you, along with the rest of the usual suspects, would have absolutely cruicifed Boris and the Conservative party for murdering millions of innocents , IF they had went ahead with their herd immunity plan.
  13. Ditto!, as in "ye wee bism" I now need to investigate the etymology o it! I kin only presume it is a corruption of "besom", see link; 1 x Genuine Full Sized Besom Broom for Witchcraft. Wicca. Pagan. Wedding BNew | eBay WWW.EBAY.CO.UK Find great deals for 1 x Genuine Full Sized Besom Broom for Witchcraft. Wicca. Pagan. Wedding BNew . Shop with confidence on eBay!
  14. The theory was they would not be able to jump on onto the higher surface . . .
  15. Bedtime, well it had started to mizzle anyway. P.S. Even the wife likes me firepit arrangement! She'll be calling me dogface next . . .
  16. A spoilt wee bism used to ride her fornicating horse along Warnocks lane near Coleraine, before she went to school of a winters morning, during rush hour while it was still dark, and it was ALL the motorists fault when one came across her, barely in control of the horse. Btw Warnock lane was a fully legal road that was a shortcut from a big housing development to the main road. Stupid suicidal silly girl.
  17. The steauch bes choking me, so I need to sort a short flue, but I got a plan . . .
  18. Da Da! The CI base actually belonged to the ugly jug shaped firebox, and I am now considering tipping the cauldron onto its back, then after lining the base with brick, lining the sides with a complete circle of brick, so that I get a brick arch over the top when it is tipped back on onto its side. P.S. Why does it remind me of a wartime searchlight battery!
  19. Gosh J I do hope they were properly attired in tight stretchy jodphurs . . .
  20. Well, no, only kindle a small fire in the curve at the bottom, perhaps in an in-built brick hearth, then the parabolic shape will hopefully reflect the heat back. Just to be different. EDIT Anyone want to venture an opinion re the likelyhood of cracking the cast iron, which is remarkedly thin & light, the whole thing being an easy 2 man lift.
  21. Either; Sitting in this orientation on a not yet built, salvaged red brick base, Note; Banana for scale! Or, how could I use this(last 2 images) instead, since I am a little reluctant to risk cracking the unblemished CI cauldron by lighting a fire in it. Btw. These were used to boil the potatoes to feed the pigs and chickens, on most small farm places here in NI, in days of yore.
  22. Tell you what Mark, I would support UBI, with 1 provision, it entirely replaces ALL other benefits, i.e. it is the same as an earned wage packet, so no free housing, free cars or subs for extra brats, each adult simply has to manage with a fixed amount of money per week. But, somehow, I dont see that as likely.
  23. I reckon 10HP per trailer tonne.
  24. SS banding/strapping around the bottom might work even better, the same stuff as they use to strap signs to posts, a simple hand tool is all is need to tighten it too. The daughters boyfriend was trying to get me to make and sell swedish candles is why we were discussing it, BUT, I never twigged using the splitter instead of a chainsaw, btw. I imagine the riven/split surface kindles/burns better than a saw track will. Kudos!
  25. and it didn't baulk at anything we put in front of it. Ah Ha!
