Musta bin driving a Series II then.

First, by correctly loading the trailer or caravan, it will not "snake". Second it should be noticable before it gets so severe as to be a problem, slow down, stop and adjust loading, or simply drive slower. Third, having first noticed the snaking, let off the throttle and, fingers crossed, drift down to a safe speed. Braking, let alone heavy braking is a BAD idea. These 3 things "worked" for me. "Yer man" or woman, was simply driving recklessly. Simples. P.S. I never had the power to power it out, but it does not seem like the best idea.

With our continued liquid Sunshine, the water level continues to rise, subjectively probably now at its highest(but again still no depth gauge, derp!) I do akinda suspect that it will never overflow, and if the surrounding peaty soil can accommodate the diffuse seepage/leakage without becoming marshy(at least next the house) no worries. However during a particularily heavy shower 2 days ago, the 6" infeed pipe was running between 5/8 and 3/4 full, plus another 4" pipe running 1/2 full. And it is hard to credit such a volume of water can simply dissappear. From 500/550m2 of roofs. Marcus EDIT

Our best rescue JR, Pongo, moved in with the neighbours soon after we adopted him, being a dirty stop-out, when he returned from a hunting trip up the Moss, black-bogging and at about 04:00, they had a cat flap, so he simply let himself in and introduced himself. I suspect he was also enticed and encouraged with treats. Anyway some 15 years later I still see him out and about, as spry, fit and friendly as ever. Pongo was SO friendly, including to cats !!, and did NOT bark, I used to joke that he could not be a JR, but he was. I still miss the wee bugger!

I think I remember that deal, some bucks wrote the first one off in a few hours/days/weeks/months even, and blythly stated "I"ll have a red one this time, just for a change". Kinda guessing if they wrote the 2nd one off, the deal was off as well.

Yesterday evening I temporarily inserted 12" wide DPM up under the lead and down over the damaged butyl, which successfully turned the heavy rain last night. I was considering simply gluing the DPM down to the(well cleaned and washed) Butyl, with Stixall, then bedding strong stiff mortar on top, to reach up to the lead, to protect the DPM/butyl from furthur rat-attack. Worth a try I imagine. Btw, the hole issue is resolved, and there never was a pipe! Regards, Marcus

Our power tripped out this morning, after prolonged rain. Found the offending circuit, in the utility, directly under the flat roof. I went up and saw the fornicating rats(well they do, dont they?) had ruthlessly shredded the butyl along below the lead flashing at the wall of the main body of the house. I had last year found where they were getting into the cavity, through the self same butyl due to a builder error, and had plugged the gap in the blockwork with mortar, and then patched in the butyl. Bastards rats soon got their revenge though! Suggestions welcome as to how to deter or prevent a re-occurance. Marcus EDIT I imagine the 303 trigger would be too heavy for tripwire activation by rats, and being bolt action, no auto-reset either, though one would tend to be aware of the triggering, so I suppose that would not really be an issue. P.S. I am bloody bored!

Took the 303 to the range this morning; Still "dead on" after 100 odd years. first group was 3.75", prone unsupported, at 100m 2nd group kinda supported over an ammo tin, was 3" dead, both near enough "dead on" in respect of my aiming point. And in so far as my decrepit eyesight was capable of aiming over open sights, with a MURDER-HEAVY military trigger forby. Edit; Just to say the Lee Enfield rifle is a lovely subjectively light naturally pointing thing, compared to me hazy memories of the SLR, which SLR I still loved mind you. I need to do a whole lot of dry firing to get used to the heavy trigger though. And start re-loading. -

I would attatch more credance to Dr. Newnham's assertions than most other such stuff, especially if as he claims, there is clear corrolation between water/soil boron levels and the incidence of arthrits in the local communities. BUT! (i)Why has "big pharma" not been all over this and exploited the shite out of it? (ii)And why does Senior Management be crippled with arthrits and I am entirely unaffected, after 40 years living beside other and sharing the same diet? cheers mth

Harsh as it sounds, but we are ALL going to die, some sooner than others due to continued poor decisions, and indeed some more horribly. BUT attempting to prevent these deaths is probably not economically viable, and indeed as is currently being proven. Then even more "innocents" will get to needlessly die due to the many side effects of the economic disruption and ensuing poverty, which is already happening(multiple massive job losses) and can only clearly get worse. I mean Mark, you, with you clearly demonstrated political stance MUST realize how big a killer poverty is. Never mind the mental health issues of staring at the same bleak 4 walls for days on end. So, which is is going to be Mark, a pure binary choice, go ahead and pick your pill. Regards, Marcus

Well, it only took 9 months(and I suppose the best thinks in life do . . .) for my variation to be approved for the 303, paperwork is supposed to be printed/posted on Monday, should I be collecting it next week sometime. I really enjoyed that, but was unaware they build vessels out of green Oak, as the film would have led one to believe, following the freshly felled tree to the sawmill and then the shipyard! -
Ah were actually finking that if the current fad for infilling cracked, waney edged and rotten timber with resin goes much furthur, they might needa just run the timber through a chipper first, then mix it with the resin. But somebody done that years ago and called it chipboard. P.S. Though some of the finished works are indeed beauitful, at least on Youtube, how the resin fares and looks in the real world with scratches etc would concern me.
