Indeed, and shamefully I cannot remember the name of the bloke who was thrown out of his so recently deceased partners home.

I bought 2No. £40.00 rechargable Petzyls for SM and myself, SM sits for at least 8 hrs doing needlepoint any day, and the battery lasted and lasted all day every day, recharged overnight. I only use mine rarely and picked it up yesterday after lying for months, and the battery still was good for quite a few hours. The daughter also borrowed Mums and commented on how good it was for walking on rough paths in darkness, and Lydia has had plenty of other headtorches. My only quibble is having to open the cover to plug in to recharge, but I suppose if you want water resistence this is the best option.

Actually I agree, feed them, but do NOT give their "parents" even more money to piss up again a wall. Feed them at school, that way they will actually get fed.

Well, not to sound too much lika Yorkshire man . . . but . . . I sprained my ankles habitually and very very badly from about age 12 right through to about 50, I could do it on hard flat surfaces due to the merest pickle of grit. I still shudder when I remember the pain of the worst incidents. Which was why I finally gave in and started buying the expensive high leg Lowa combat boots. Anyway in with the Dr. one day and idly mentioned my proclivitity to turn my ankles, for no reason. He sent me to a Podiarist, who instantly diagnosed flat feet. A set of insoles later, combined with the Lowa boots and while still occassionally "tweeking" my ankle, no bad ones. I also glued insoles into flipflops which I wear both in the house and when out. I can now barely thole to walk in my unsupported bare feet. So was that why the WW1/WW2 Armies refused to take otherwise big strong fit blokes with flat feet, simply because they would likely trip over them.

As the title, it has started to blowdown anyway and with the current shortage of timber in Ireland. . . I was already contacted by Scottish woodlands re this timber, just today. It is near the County road with reasonable access, i.e. 1/4 mile up a laneway, not through rank bog. Unthinned and untended mind. What is it likely to be worth, to me? Marcus

This steak was probably 40mm thick, and despite the 10-12 minutes in the oven at 180 was still well-rare. No butter needed, and the pan juices were scraped over me potatoes. Well I should have posted images of the last few fry-ups the wife made(and I will the next time) M&S(or any other reputable) black pudding, soft fried eggs and Heinz baked beans being the central items. BUT The reason for my post today was the first successful(in 61-16=45 years!!!) steak, cooked at home that is. The wife and myself were not reared to eat steaks(due to tight arsed parentage!), and despite enjoying the occassional decent steak when out, were never able to cook a steak at home to please ourselves, though in honesty mostly Tesco type offerings, with the odd "decent" butchers steak thrown in, but always, always, always, disappointing. But when we were in M&S looking for their black pudding(and see above) we bought a couple of 450g sealed in plastic sirloin steaks. Which when opened did not bleed whatsoever!, and following the instructions on the pack for a rare finish, were quite perfect, pre-heat the heavy-arsed SS pan in the oven, then transfer onto the big gas/wok ring on max flame before the steak was popped in, 2 mins each side, no touch, followed by 10-12 mins in the oven at 180 deg Fan(which had previously preheated the pan) Nor did it bleed out after cooking, at all. Washed down with a decent Shiraz. Why take me 45 years to figure this out! BURP!!!!

I have been wondering how the closure of so-called wet bars(and paramilitary run "clubs") and the policing of such , went down in West and East Belfast, ??????????? The patrons will have a wile dreauth on them by now.
