  1. My doors shut and it's the hottest landrover heater wise I have ever owned but your right they are an acquired taste landrover single cabs !
  2. Not good ! Hope your not to badly affected good job you have some good friends to help out
  3. Under the construction and use definition they are legal but must be kept under 25 mph yes air brakes etc due to them being sold in other markets in Europe our laws in England say max speed for fixed rear axle tractors is 25mph and as said above 20mph in Scotland ! As like all these things people won't do much to slow them down it just when the brown stuff hits the rotary distributor when there is an incident and it's found that speed is a factor then driver / owner beware I guess
  4. So Mog with tipping chip box and no 3pt linkage is just a load carrier ! Will be rare to find one but they exist and yes I agree with everything you say I was more aiming towards the speed side of it in my post .
  5. Legally unless the tractor has full suspension from and rear and individual brake units on all four hubs you cannot exceed 25mph ! Direct copy from gov.co.uk An effective speed limit of 25 mph will be applied for conventional tractors. Modern tractors are designed to safely travel at speeds of up to, or over 25 mph, but current regulations restrict their speed to 20 mph, lower than many other EU countries. We are therefore unnecessarily restricting our farmers, adding time and cost on to their operations. Those tractors allowed to exceed 25 mph will continue to be subject to tighter design and regulatory requirement So Fastracs Mogs (without carrying capacity or chip boxes) and the old Trantor I believe to be the only ones that can do more than 25mph legally Conventional tractors are classed among other things as having a fixed rear axle ie no suspension regardless of front axle suspension that can't count alone !
  6. My work 12 plate Citroen relay has just clicked 160000
  7. BMW or Mercedes if looked after go forever mind you any of them can and will suffer from electrical gremlins at some point also modern emissions control such as egr Dpfs selective cats and additive systems cause the most issues ! The last VW emissions episode highlighted the problems getting modern small diesels to comply with emission standards and I wouldn't be surprised if the small high speed diesels day as a car power plant are numbered
  8. Fair comment but when they flatly refuse to let anyone pass for 2-3 miles can you blame drivers for getting a little pissed if with them ? Also applies to tractors and as a tractor driver I was taught that if you have more than 6 cars behind you you should find somewhere suitable to pull over to let them past and in reality it ads very little to the journey and less stress from tw4ts trying to do dangerous overtakes !!!!
  9. I used to run the dryer on the farm about 15 years ago and at 11p a litre the boss didn't care how wet the wheat was I'd dry it no issues burning several thousand litres in a week ! When the price went through the roof I reckon the dryer did no more than the milling wheat if that amazing how much the sun will dry
  10. Yes I would think most use 40ft high cubes and yes standardised crate sizes would be good
  11. There are two variants of 40ft containers the standard 8ft6 tall and 9ft6 tall high cube then there are the 45ft standards and high cubes
  12. Which is fine until you get to a herd of them who think they own the road or those who have no respect for other road users and the Highway Code a little consideration from all users would be better
  13. Only as weird as the rest of us that don't work with trees and wood as our main income stream it's what makes the forum friendly and useful
  14. Isn't the saying "nowt queer as folk" Yes might have to Increase the ignore list Oh yes some to avoid I'm sure
  15. There can be some tedious posting and the like and people who always have to have a say and the like but you find that on all forums and I'm one that does tend to find text speak and the like a touch irritating but life is made up of allsorts and there are filter settings etc which is more than on some forums and message boards
  16. On the old firm we used to get enviro mix which is blended crushed concrete and planings went down well
