  1. We could not match three & half minutes but did do 5 with 10 inch logs and 8 way knife. Would not want to do it like that all week. Still it's a lot easier to use than the Farmi .
  2. Herefordshire prices are strong very strong getting some real good deals further afield . £38.00 tonne on 18 month seasoned beech never been happier paying on weight. 42 on Ash . Yes you got haulier on top but it's still cheaper than buying in county. Got larch 10 inch down £28
  3. First year this year and it's going well they park at entrance and I bring it to them extra 250 on PL . All appropriate warning signs was the only condition. All you guys saying don't want people scoping out your yards do you really think there going to come under the guise of a firewood customer. It all be at 330am when it's raining and blowing, then come back to get the loot. If your doing firewood Arb landscaping the bad guys no where you are.
  4. Another firewood merchant forestry contractor had a demo and the first thing he said was that the saw blades are such a big diameter that they have to be really thick. When your doing big diameter timber that's a lot of wood to loose. The other thing he noticed is that as we do short logs they never land properly in the splitting chamber. The other obvious one is cost it's a lot of money to get back.
  5. I wish!
  6. There good but like all American circular saw processors they take a good half inch out the log every cut thats a lot of cord to loose.
  7. If you want a processor that ticks all the boxes get a tajfun 400 joy its fast you will need a big tractor to move it or a telehandler. Andy at kILWORTH is the man to speak to 3 people i know have all had demo's off the big firms and gone for the Tajfun.
  8. Unfortunately its not on my door step but getting good price on return loads by two local company's who deliver post and ral nation wide and need return loads.
  9. Would not deal with said company plus dont really want a 7 year old machine had my processor 2 years and its starting to need repair work done on it.
  10. Imo if its your main business its worth doing it with the right kit if its a side line no. There is money in firewood if your selling Good hardwood at anything under £100 m3 your doing yourself out of money. Plenty of people doing 600 t making a good living out of it. As for the price of cord currently got 18 month seasoned beach at 38 good straight ash at £42 all sub 15 inch
  11. To be honest i thought the same rather be making money while lorry is hauling if you get a regular company doing a loads a week they will look after you.
  12. Thats going to be serious money. Not really a rival either Bindenburger 450 would be a rival Dalen 2054 tajfun 400 Hp 42 been really looking in to getting a bigger machine to do all the bigger stuff. To be honest if i had the money it would be a bidenberger.
  13. Leylandii will not grow back once cut down plus Marks right either a new caravan or Daughter was getting married.
  14. UMM no they dont the biggist firewood supplier in the country just had theres ripped out as it would not preform plus the 360 and pinosa are diffrent machines one is a firewood factory the other a processor
  15. Having a demo of the Tajfun 400 joy mate just bought one and rekons its the muts nuts.
  16. How do you work out what weight you have taken out of the stack though to pay for cord.
  17. With hard wood in such short supply why chip it. To much good quality wood going for biomass IMO.
  18. Not a lot of meat left I agree.
  19. 100 tonne is a 100 tonne what ever form it's in wood only looses weight not gains it I am guessing you made a mistake in your opening post.
  20. That's some chipper
  21. I don't no why but I really enjoy doing it and it fits better with my family commitments. I hear people saying that there is a lot of outlay for little return but compare it to a hedge cutting contractor who has a 50k tractor with a 25k flail charging £25.00 an hour the figures look quite good. The market around us is strong and I could sell as much as I can get.
  22. Hi mate been hearing good things about you from some of the local land owners would like to discuss a few things regarding the log pro and where your going with it. I was very interested at the time but had other things to attend to. Can you pm me your number please. Regards Mike
  23. Any body got any cures for hangovers. Not good this morning
  24. Can supply you a number to a guy doing softwood it all be 25t loads though.
