I think you are right. We tend not to notice how many really decent folk there are in the world , they get a bit obscured by one or two great big fat orrible ones. Heres to the decent folk:thumbup1:

That sounds like a well thought out plan, wish I had thought of that! We pegged our textile down with the pegs and that works fine. Having been a sceptic of the plastic, I now wouldnt dream of planting without, we have done a couple of Km some of it in iffy ground and its grown away really well from just a slit in the fabric, make a slot with a draining spade and heel in well.

Andrew, Ive got an 028 that was running like a train, but I dropped a tree on the back handle, the motor is still 100 % (was last year), I can feel a donation coming on.

being a bit anally retentive I get the log out and weigh it quite often, then put the numbers in a spreadsheet, so after a bit you can see where its going to land up. Actually mostly I am worried about woodchip which is by definition 0% after 24hrs (at 110 C) but it would be a useful comparison to measure a log then test it in the oven. The gadgets to measure chip moisture % cost nearly a grand, so its cheaper to get more wood.

my tip is DON'T DRINK THE WATER I havent got a meter but if I want to know I weigh a log then stick it in the oven, it creates a nice smell, and after a couple of days you can weigh it again and work out the %

at least the bloke got the log split, there was one on her entitled How To Split 20 tonnes who hadnt even done 20 kg in a 20 minute video. Where do these guys get the time to waste?
