    Hoopers Farm

We are happy to pay a bit for Chips that we can use as cattle bedding, no thorn, yew, rhodie, laurel or bathing else we know is toxic. Cord/Rings can be tipped for free. Tipping is on concrete, but always call first else there may be a bunch of cows in the way.
  2. or you could just audition for a bit part in the next Clarkson, see if you can actually get it stuck
  3. There has been a slight to-do in our pub, as the rules of the pumpkin comp were that entrants had to purchase the seedling, however, things went wrong when the first load of seedlings snuffed it, and the second lot purchased from a garden centre as "Atlantic Giant" threw a crop of "various". Much more exciting than other years.
  4. could be a poor year for sloe gin. Bother
  5. Sloes on one area of blackthorn are affected. Anyone seen this before, or know what would cause it?
  6. There was a time in history when, if you went across to France and stocked up on Lager, and invested the same amount of money in Marconi , by the time you had finished drinking the lager, the empty cans were wot more than the shares.
  7. Drop in if you are passing, will be great to catch up. I have announced my retirement, but it doesn't seem to have made the blindest bit of difference
  8. Gum Tree met with a resounding "Yes of course it is" thanks Andrew We are still here, just converting the last little shed for AirB&B, hope everything is good with you.
  9. This whole thread came about because a friend. who works in a fabric shop, asked me what tree I thought was depicted on a fabric that she and Mrs D were conspiring to furnish our little cottage with. And today the went to look at the gardens at Heaver, hence the above. Below is a picture of the fabric, so I would also like your suggestions for this, but I appreciate it is probably a stylised representation, but of what?
  10. The leaves are about three to four times the size of our SB, and are much more sparse on the branch. Specimen on first post is in Heaver Castle Garden, so possibly a bit ornamental, I will look up white Beech
  11. I would be grateful for any input on this tree
  12. How much are they trading for? Thats the IBC complete, not the spare roofs
  13. Sign in a pub Gents. We aim to please, could you aim too, please. Yesterday (thread warning tangent) blackboard outside the pub obviously welcoming everyone back. But on the reverse, presumably un-noticed, it said "Ladies, only two at a time please" Lightweight Lothario?
  14. Hi Jon Older obviously and coming towards the end of lambing, so sleep deprived/brainless and with a lockdown beard. Id post a picture but I don't want to scare the children. Apart from that, brilliant! Do call in if you are passing, regulations permitting! Rod
  15. Then when you give a lively answer about your travels "where ya dust bin" Then when you give an implausible answer "where ya wheely bin"
  16. The wood burned should be sustainably sourced, and within the spec of the manufacturer of the boiler. The installation would have been signed off as eligible for RHI. So it doesn't sound like they are claiming/bothered about a potential audit
  17. I came across some a couple of days ago, in a stack of bricks IMG_3811.m4v
  18. I picked some a couple of days ago, and yes, I though aniseed, but the ones collect today seem just mushroomy. Im struggling to call them Horse mushrooms because of the short, very fat stem
  19. Looking in my books, I can't find the name of this Mushroom. Here (Kent Surrey borders) I have found two quite separate groups, they smell good and look right but I want to confirm edibility. Definitely not asking anyone to confirm their edibility, just give me the name to look up if you have any ideas. Thanks in advance.
  20. Thanks for your replies everyone, both probably over 100 yrs old and something else perhaps on the agenda, (I couldn't read the correspondence, because I didn't have my glasses) I will post if I find out more, but in the ,meantime useful reassurance for the landowner.
  21. Does it not work on the LH pair of connections, there are some other connections to the right, is one of these a free flow return?
