  1. Dead right:thumbup:
  2. 750 quid.
  3. The man makes a valid point.
  4. My advice would be to go to someone like Honey Bros or similar, explain the situation and let them help, they have helped countless newbies, A&F in haslemere are no more apparently, it was there that I got kitted out when God was a boy.
  5. Quite right, it has been an entertaining thread anyway.
  6. There is a bloke on here who runs a splitter of the hydraulics on his 6in timberwolf to good effect. not a screw splitter the guillotine sort. He will pop up shortly i expect.
  7. yeh I know , I was being disbelieving rather than incredulous, cannot find the right smiley for that.
  8. never seen that,......ever
  9. I would say get a cheap transit size tipper, but I don't have to pay the insurance. How much would you have to pay at your age?
  10. Thats my 10p's worth in a nutshell.
  11. it was on the lost gardens of heligan, but yes I bet he was embarrassed by that!
  12. cut down many poplars lately?
  13. Like many of you I sell woodchip, partly to get a few quid and also to get rid of what is a waste product. I use it round my own garden as mulch and have seen a forest of mushrooms, many of which look rather less than friendly. Seeing as many of the trees we take down are dead/diseased anyway and all the chip is mixed up, are we merely exporting trouble to our chip clients?
  14. operator must be able to blow large quantities of sawdust under hedge, into streams, down road etc
  15. well at least you did not have to travel far to do the quote.
  16. It can be a bit of a sod to burn, smoulders forever, I have never suceeded. probably need a plan B
  17. Threads do have a habit of wandering, getting back to the point then back in blighty I would buy my saws from a very small local bloke, they would work out a little pricier but when I was in the brown stuff he would fix it there and then or lend me something. The fifty odd quid extra I would pay against a lost afternoon's work made it worthwhile. Does not work for everyone though.
  18. don't you just cut the cord, lose one cm or so and fit a new one? my stihls are a few years so old unaware of this bonding thing.
  19. Understood, but it is not even the cord, its just the handle ie a knot! you could get an old one out of the shed, without the easistart stuff and use that till the bits arrive.
  20. Yes :thumbup:I would be a bit embarrassed to admit to that.
  21. v. good
  22. :
  23. No, get away, really?
