  1. ok fair enough, if it was a light issue I always think thinning is a bit of a fudge.
  2. If that had been a private client rather than a LA you would have trouble getting the cheque, what are we saying here? "well done for doing next to nothing"
  3. absolutely spot on. why complicate things?
  4. taken in 2002, Dead Ash nr Horsham
  5. put an ad in the local paper offering a reward , I did that for a stolen trailer/tracked chipper combo, and the thief offered it to me (easier than selling stolen gear) long story short we met at an out of the way place for the handover, I had neglected to tell him I was bringing 4 mates and we repatriated it. Worth a go.
  6. very very nice piece of equipment. green with envy.
  7. looks tidy; however 500 hrs is a lot for a smallish grinder, so go on give us an idea what do you want?
  8. did you buy it new?
  9. yes i can see that would set the adrenaline pumping,
  10. did you get a nasty wobble when the weight caught?
  11. I have had two of these saws and they both blew up long before they should have; and a mate has had 4 with the same prob, searching through the forum no other saw appears as often with unhappy owners,
  12. Landrover= witches curse 088 =widowmaker heavy reduction= giving it a good muppeting groundsman=plonky
  13. ah all becomes clear, none taken:001_smile:
  14. what exactly am i making up?
  15. The planning apps and addresses are often in the local paper. I do not see that a letter to the applicants address offering their services is anything other than standard stuff. As said earlier builders do it all the time. Often the clients have done the app themselves and are glad to get some quotes If they don't name you in the letter or knock on the door whats the big deal?
  16. Thanks for the pdf, will study it later.
  17. No different species, very bad news for pets and kids.
  18. Question for the better educated than I, Down here in South West France I get asked to remove the nests and for advice on control, I have done some research on the net but have been unable to find a product to suggest, any ideas?
  19. What started as an interesting thread has been taken over by some very worthy rubbish; It not a contest to see whose the most "green" For me Goat Willow, difficult to chip when, as usual it has broken and regrown at right angles, when it has fallen in a pond the branches get covered in silt, and I always seem to get wet when clearing it.
  20.
  21. priceless
  22. All good stuff thank you, the vice idea is one I will definitely use. Billy, what do you mean by churching? I often lower branches on the end of my climbing line then hold it, butt in the air(no jokes!) allowing the groundie with a hook to ease the cut end down towards the chipper.
  23. I was ringing an oak down today, whilst changing from a 200t to an 66 I used a little trick I slipped in to when the arms got a little tired, when pulling up the heavy saw I lay the rope over the top of the trunk to take the weight from time to time. (47 now and need all the help I can get) This set me thinking there must be loads of little dodges that help you lot get through the day that you might want to share.
