  1. what medical terms are banned:001_smile:
  2. the big question is What are you using it for?????
  3. I'm thinking wait till everyone gets bored then get involved and win. Are there any rules I mean- the last person to comment will be the last person alive so long as the thread is open ended. Is the end arbitrary or does the OP have a time/number/random way of calling the thread ended. anal- bring it on
  4. We do get asked for hourly rate as part of a wider contract but lets face it usually thats just an office thing. We always get asked to quote for extra works within the contract- the hourly rate is forgotten or brushed aside
  5. Never had a lot of luck selling it though we didn't try advertising too hard. I'm happy to give it away close to where we are working- fresh
  6. You'll need a tracked MEWP for that:001_smile: Do it to old cuts- slightly below
  7. Haven't done hourly rate for 20 years or more Occasionally do day rate but you then get customers complaining if you crack on and finish at 2 and don't want to pay a days work= no incentive
  8. Nomix chipman one for us It's nice to be able to cover a large area without all that weight on your back- feels really almost office worker On hard surfaces I believe this way is now the only way to spray- runoff issues with knapsack Issues are wind- low wind speeds only in open areas beeping- public often make some smart comment battery- make sure you have inverter and charge during break times Very slow on large areas compared to knapsack which we have gone back to I would have thought spot treatment around trees on a large number over a large area- this is the perfect method. You will cover a lot of trees on one 5L pack
  9. Inspirational stuff here mate You've a talent
  10. If you price too cheap, you really won't last long in this game
  11. Busy with questions today. Hope to get reassurance on this as we trimmed up a previously pollarded willow -25ft high 3 stems (probably 3 years growth and very many hairy bits) thinking that it was ok to do this without getting permission as it was a repollard. I'm now not so sure and think we may get our nuckles rapped. Anyone know the law on this so I can sleep at night. I believe a clipboard toting TO has been seen in the area
  12. Yes it is very close but not on their land- I would imagine the driver would report as it's pretty obvious we were there. Plus as you know- I can't 100% guarantee we won't drop something over their fence. I'm imagining a branch floating down onto their rails and the adrenaline rush THAT would result in. There are no overhead power lines.
  13. I would like some advice if possible We have been asked to remove 2no. 40ft conifers growing about 15ft from the mainline just outside the track fence. They are in a customers garden. The line is busy My gut feeling is walk away but I'd love to know how hard it can be. Without the track nearby the job would be relatively straightforward. I'm assuming we would have to inform network rail and be restricted but is it worth the aggro (tickets etc). I do like a challenge though.
  14. good artisan work there how did you fit the concrete bottoms to the posts whats going in the middle of the paving
  15. chain chisel or chipper chisel is sooo fast
  16. Is it possible these big cats are in fact black labs- some can be quite sleek and some people do walk their dogs late evening.
  17. I agree it does sound like trouble especially with their ideas You maybe could use wildflower Check with British Seed Houses for appropriate mix. Good Luck
  18. I'm wondrin whether this thread will get more replies than the christian one- not to say christians can't drink but you know what i mean
  19. That is so true they love to see lots of stuff on the floor I saw your truck Mark going round the tesco junction 11 roundabout today got to say your paintwork(truck and chipper) looks well clean halfords must be well chuffed:biggrin:
  20. agreed to think that someone using climbing rope doesn't know if there are any dinks in it is beyond me, Also- how does a loler inspector know when a rope has been involved in a fall/stretch It must remain personal responsibility- why all this cr*p Covering asses no doubt but that is just stupid.
  21. You've got to be joking surely felling beats them all:001_smile:
  22. It is now but a couple of years ago it wasn't- Maybe a check round of older stoves and site the alarm in the rooms not covered. The extractor warning is very relevant with a lot of people putting wood stoves in family/kitchen rooms- It's a warning I will spread around my household CO = silent killer
