  1. one coming up east yorks. If any good to you how big do you want it?
  2. Thats how its done these days software. The average tractor is geared to pull at 5mph with a heavy load. Lots of power that they have shifted to speed. Video looks hilarous
  3. My wife works as a dispenser in a pharmacy. It's quite amazing what they can do really, if ever you are ill injured within reason you should go there 1st. Not the long waits. Many under the counter drugs can be given. They also will advise you to go to the docs if you need to & some drugs can only be prescribed by the docs. The pharmacist is highly qualified. It takes about 7 yrs to do it including practical experience. Even my wife has to know lots about drugs. Also handy locations when out on the job.
  4. How is the second book coming on?
  5. A non native oak, going on the green stem part nd its bud arrangement probably USA
  6. I still run an escort 1.8TD van as its all Ive ever had . Legally I can pull about 1.2 ton behind it depending on how empty the van is. The turbo version is fast enough, I spend alot of time stuck behind slow drivers or overtaking them. Excellent cheap to fix easy to repair. I have driven berlingo vans and they are probably the best small van and excellent off road when driven with good technique. For a 2 wheel drive.
  7. I do this work, to be competitive you need to be mechanised, tractor, knocker, wire spooling equipment, wire tensioners and the usual hammer, spirit level kind of tools. How many metres? This is a guide to the national average price, check top of page 3.

    Barbed wire

Here is the basic idea, note inverted drawbar

    Barbed wire

I used to use a bar with a lump of wood with a hole drilled in the centre. Inserted into the clevis drawbar of tractor. Or the same bar between lower link arms again with spacers. They stop the barbs wood frame fouling the arms. Like Matthew storrs spin it in less than a minute. Will try and post a photo later.
  10. Just logged in try this link. John Deere Owner Forum Forums
  11. Car stickers need printing. Modern life built on and run on diesel since the steam age
  12. :congrats: Yet up to that point in life its all they know thanks to our modern full on educate, educate system, with young people working actually frowned upon and legally discouraged:thumbdown:
  13. On a tight budget stir up protesters at either end . Preferably not tree huggers in this case. Maybe put up fake planning applications for a waste incinerator or Wind farm. With invitations to come and air your views on site. I'm sure alot of farmers and such just Drop em quick and shove to roadside. With the proviso it had dropped we are just clearing it. Then take time to sort it.
  14. My parents have rheas ,their eggs must take a while. I think it would be a family meal. Probably stench from the butthole next day as well!
  15. It does I joined ages ago . I will put up a link when I'm on computer, I think the server got changed at some point.
  16. A disappearing novelty these days. More likely to find a hoard of roman coins in the back garden worth a fortune the way things are going. I worked with a lad last week that was so slow and useless lacking mindset, I couldn't grasp why he bothers to breathe!
  17. Oz and nz havnt embraced the American libel, sue you culture in full as we have as yet. I remember as a kid we hadn't either. Which generates paperwork stress and the stupid in warranted courses, which European & U.K. politics are adding to our lives. I enjoy holidaying in nz when we can. It's got the space to relax, lots less stress. But as yet I cannot imagine staying there because it's just too slow, traffic people walking etc just get in my way. I'm too keen to be on. For this and other reasons many people return to their home country.
  18. Surely the lads will work faster to impress ? A lad I know has 3 extra gears he never used normally when a female arrives in the yard.
  19. A contact I know who works for an urban tree works organisation asked me if I knew of anyone interested in buying their wood to process in to firewood either for home use or to sell on. I believe its hard/softwood mix and initially available in 20 yd skips. Price, delivery etc all to be negotiated, if you send me a pm and your details I will pass them on and send you his contact number. Ideally would suit the Hull and Beverley area and surrounding villages. At present this is all I know. Please give me a day to reply as I only access the web at home.
  20. I have invested in a weedbadger vineyard type mower/cultivator for forestry vegetation control, I've had it a while but never got it fully set up to use yet. I don't think it will be long before herbicide will either be had to use or reduced in licence and heavily policed. I do very little spraying. About 40 ltrs last year on a neglected young hedge, that I didn't plant.

    Good books...

I've got that one as well. That range of books is well laid out in a different style that really helps. I found out the mystery tree my grandad planted decades ago through this book. It was a mockernut hickory, if i remember correctly. Another good book in the standard style format is
  22. Well done, a bit more work involved but I think it has other benefits, biologically and moisture retention etc. I would do it this way by choice. Will need to mow the grass still to stop it falling over and tillering and seeding in to the mulch. Is your membrane biodegradable? I use cardboard in the fruit garden and have used it on hedges as well with success.
  23. I get it now you would put a bolt right through the axle inside and also through the tube on the rim. I say no as well because it will be too weak. I have seen this design on a BCS tractor lower link pin. It fails!!!!! If you trim too much off the rim tube and the tyre rubs the frame, you can always re shim with washers. Are you near me geographically jjll? I may have some bits and pieces you could test this out on.
  24. Rather than make a mistake that leads to buying expensive replacements. Can you get a couple of rims to experiment with. I don't have an arb trolley but I assume pins in the outside prevent the rolling rim sliding off the end? Would it be better to drill a hole in the axle centre then thread it and hubcap it with a bolt and washer? This may weaken the axle load rarting. Post a photo then we can work it out.
  25. That's bad news, the reality is there are lots of these characters out there, whilst you may never feel at ease in what should be your own space for the time being something will improve your situation before long. I assume you both have work. Welcome back get stuck in with the good stuff you can do something about. The positivity will spread.
