  1. Growing in the lawn, had that shot leaf thing a few years ago but seemed much better lately. Will probably just leave it and see how it goes as a load of mulch will mess up the vista
  2. Not really what I wanted to hear, only a small tree so will let it get on with it and will see what gives. Have chopped the dodgy bits off for now and will see what happens. Cheers.
  3. Had a couple of boughs drop off my ornamental plum tree over the last two years. I have noticed this growth on the effected branches - what is the prognosis?
  4. Still no news, no idea of whom the owner is, now pushed to the back off the queue!
  5. Like I said at the beginning of this thread, these saws do suffer from leaks in a couple of areas and pressure/vac testing is important to ensure trouble free running. The saw also is "Fragile" to not having the clutch drum and bearing replaced in a timely manner and have written off a few due to shot crank bearing surfaces. They are great saws but do require a bit of maintenance, something that appears to be lacking on a lot of saws I see.
  6. Anyone want to purchase a MS361 and another saw thrown in free of charge???
  7. That's why I didn't say what the second saw was or describe the box!!! Think I will leave it where it is and wait for the call.
  8. I have had a box arrive with a MS361 and another saw in it. No return address, no indication of work to be done, no mobile, no email, no address on the box bar mine In short, I have no idea whose saws these are and why they have been sent in. I am amazed....yet again as it has happened before but have found an email, text etc to verify who it was sent by but this time....squat, nothing at all, no trail of texts or emails......so, who the flippin heck sent it in????????
  9. I hope you didn't use an aftermarket coil and don't lob the original. These saws do have a few issues and best get it checked out as some of the issues can produce big issues. When was it last fully serviced and was it pressure and vac tested?
  10. 346xps are stonking, just need to be set up right if they are old and need servicing.
  11. Don't think it was about worms though
  12. Got a good number of nest boxes in the garden and we have blue tits in one but also have a couple of blackbird nests in our cordyline and the ivy around an oil tank. We do spend a bit on bird food and it pays off, even have a pair of firecrests visiting regularly and a stonechat - not so common where we are!
  13. Looked pretty good to me, no wobbling but a slight blue spark which I thought was typical brushed motor arcing but these look to be brushless motors and then found it Any change of motor is likely to cock up a lot of other factors - these electric bits of kit are part of my exit strategy!
  14. Had one of those Stihl HLA65s in recently, interesting that the size of the motor is tiny and no drive shafts but then that is pretty obvious when you think of it. It kept flashing up three red lights and stopping. Looked it up and found I should be returning it to my Stihl Dealer........Mmmm, they obviously don't know of his reputation After a bit of poking I found one of the crimp connectors going to the motor was fractured and sparking so crimped a new one on and bingo, one working trimmer....nice
  15. I think with the trouble the 1st gen of the MS261 had, Stihl should discount replacement cranks for these saws - just a thought but am sure it will fall on fallow ground!
  16. I am beginning to think we should charge for this service
  17. Did a saw for an Arbtalk member from the IOM who got pissed, took the saw apart then sent it to me.....with a few bits from his Hilux that eally threw me. He did offer lodgings during the TT though never took him up on it.
  18. Oh....can someone turn the "Quite" in to "Quiet" on the thread title???
  19. Glad I'm not the only one, the last couple of weeks have been flat after being mad for well over a year or more. Started getting hedge trimmers in but the usual enquiries have noticeably dropped off. Thought I had rebuilt all the MS200Ts in England now and that was the reason! Never mind, time to go on holiday
  20. I fitted two AM cranks on a customers 660, one sheared completely in half around the big end and the other ones big end grenaded. I then fitted an OEM one and it didn't return! I did do another AM crank on another customers 660 and he thinks (got two 660s) that that failed recently. A bottom end rebuild is a costly and time consuming rebuild, failed big ends can take out the top end so best use OEM IMO.
  21. CPC are the domestic branch of Farnell, less technical but OK.
  22. Most couriers I use are good fellas and work damn hard against silly time schedules. You have to look at the bigger picture and the pressure they are under. Easy to criticize the one parcel that goes wobbly but in the main, most of them are pretty damn good.
  23. Had this in my past career, the company will be looking at enquiries of many thousand and not an end user purchasing one part. Best you can do is go to the RS components or Farnell website and purchase off there as the company will have put data sheets and descriptions on the two websites as many SMEs etc will purchase a fair number regularly making the manufacturer £££££. It used to piss me off when the sales girls would moan about someone wanting a switch to fix their white goods, didn't seem right lobbing a washing machine in a hole just because a £0.50p switch had failed
