  1. Horrible news!!!! Should we all be wearing chainsaw protective long tops and gloves in addition to the normal "Type C" trousers? (I know this would not help with crush issues)
  2. BTCV have free workers although I heard they charge the landowners a fee. Public still have to pay through taxes the costs of the unemployed volunteers. Auction houses have free work? Never heard that one!
  3. Ah the fun of driving onto a moorland bog:lol:. There is a place above Sheffield that was bombed in WW2 and due to all the holes even the Birch trees start swaying when a single person walks along. If you have never been stuck you have never been offroad.
  4. Weights to start with.
  5. Where is southern Norge is the machine based? Have you a Mercedes service manual? Merc truck services will help if needed. Condition of batteries before starting?
  6. Pick-Up is a USA term and UTE is a Australian English term which means Utility Vehicle NOT a pickup. The vehicles are different in build.
  7. Use care to remove and when installing. This saves breaking the machine in two. Make sure a new nut also. Flush oil tank out to remove possible debris
  8. I would suggest this also as the google street view shows a council estate and not a business site. (No telephone details and no street number) E-Mail the ISP and complain and have the site taken down. The person has a lack of English understanding in some areas of the website. Have you tried the company that produce the product? People that steal and fraud should have the hands removed and eyes taken out.
  9. I am told the that due to weather conditions and sun flares from 22.00 on the 1st March 2011 the Northern Lights should be visible in Scotland/Denmark. (See picture with line of view zone)
  10. I heard on the news this afternoon that due to an EU court rule which comes in now that women will have to pay the same rates as men in vehicle insurances.
  11. Run a road going business vehicle. (that's the plan)
  12. Out of interest are the handles with lift up sections on the tailgate for bagging woodchip into sacks?
  13. The meek shall inherit the earth. Like hell.
  14. We use stop and go signs on small rural roads. Free:thumbup:
  15. Oh so the animals on this earth walked in 2x2 and did not attack/eat each each species:lol: It has now been proved that when the sea moved back to allow Moses to cross it was a tsunami. I am amazed to still see this thread here. Certain religions have a response to everything.
  16. I did mention which model of chainsaw and seal type was being used as there is a know problem regardless of fuel types which I have taken up with Husqvarna service. (Companies are careful to admit issues these times) Some might remember a tree surgeon several years ago that was using a Stihl chainsaw which had a fuel leak problem onto his protective trousers which then caught fire and melted onto his legs. Main issue is thickness of seals from new before being in contact with fuel and the standard of plastic screw threads. This applies to all makes of saws. Who checks when using a saw if the fuel area is damp and slightly leaking?
  17. I have lost count the number of people we pass using work tools without PPE. HSE seem to turn up after the events. Why not some free advice to small firms. Prevention is more cost effective than cure.
  18. Well I am in the process of doing a woodgas unit:thumbup:
  19. The problems with religions is that although most claim to have freedom of choice the children are forced to attend services and have constant pressure!! Who believes in aliens and wood spirits? Religion is crutch. In numerous areas of the world people have been forced into a brainless condition. This is from experience and not personal. Some heated comments.
  20. I agree. The UK is cold, dark and damp in wintertime. The snow and open cloud free skies in southern Norway makes it much more suitable to work and wood is not covered in deep mud. (That's if I can find the chainsaw in the drifts) It was 33C in summertime and a fire risk zone whilst it was rain in Derbyshire. Fuel and booze is expensive though:thumbdown:
  21. This might help? Chantler Timber - UK traders in mature round timber and freehold woodland
  22. Yeah and I would like to keep on the forum. More fuel on the fire.
  23. I noticed in Canada unlike in England the tree stem is cut level first and then an upward sloping lower cut. Is this to gain more wood at the mill?
  24. Views are fine provided it does not offend someone else.
  25. Polite direct face to face works for me. Look at something in writing though as I rented a barn a long time ago when starting in business and the man wanted cash then when we moved on he claimed we had not paid. Told him to take me to the small claims and that was the last we heard.
