  1. I questioned the echo dealer about spares when i recently purchased a longreach hedge cutter. His response was that there was a problem but now the new american owners are getting it sorted and 95% of parts are readily available. Could have just been sales patter tho.
  2. Sorry to hear of your loss treemoose. RIP Spoon. Another one of ours - Phoebe, complete with black eye after a fight.
  3. Ditto. After working yesterday that means no weekend for me again.
  4. I was a bit concerned when i first got the 338 with the caps both at the front but i can't remember ever making a mistake when refuelling. May have done it once but no more than when using a 200T. With me it's probably a mistake of which end of the combi can i'm pouring rather than which hole i'm pouring it into. Only happens when distracted or tired.
  5. Is that because of the pink nose or the furry ears
  6. Tigger, aka Fatboy.
  7. Have you ever met Silky? It's hard to shut him up
  8. Well the change over has begun. Recently purchased a Tanaka 210 on Burrell's recommendations. Placed an order today for an Echo long reach. Will post reviews after they have had some use.
  9. Hi Paul, Yeah, i did see that on the AA events calendar but unfortunately/fortunately November is already crammed plus i'd need a bit of reading time before the course. Please let me know any other dates when you update the calendar. Cheers, Ed
  10. I think if you've pass a level 2 then the basic will probably be a waste of time. I'm like you - level2 and wanting to do PTI. Need to look into it but probably have to do it at either treelife or writtle.
  11. I met an old friend in Peterborough yesterday to look at a job for his fencing company. He was telling me about a commercial waste tip site on the north-east edge of Peterborough which charges £20 per load. I think it's near the A47 in the eye area but i can find out exactly if you want. Ed.
  12. Had a quick flick through. Looks like they have made it nice and simple (joke). I'll have a closer look when I next get a bout of insomnia.
  13. Good thread. Can we now go into how altering the H & L settings changes the rich/lean ratio. I was once told that it was important not to set the L screw below factory settings, i.e. less than 1 turn out on a topper, so i'm presuming that this will make the mixed too lean and risk seizure. Also, could it be simply explained whats happening when a two stroke machine is referred to as "four stroking".
  14. Tappet nut would be good for the older KM100. No, the newer 2011 machine very almost got pile-drived into the concrete yesterday. For some reason it will work fine for a while but stop it and leave it for five minutes and it will then be impossible to start.
  15. I would love a work bench like that - mine is generally the top of my TW150. But Gardenkit, I can't see a clubhammer anywhere. I almost used mine to fix my two 4-mix machines the other day.
  16. Here's my opinion for what it's worth: give both halves a crown reduction and monitor the decay at the base of the tree. Regarding Cobra bracing, I was under the impression that this bracing method was not designed to support the full weight of a defective crown although i would think that 2x 4T braces most likely would in this case. I would consider installing a new non-invasive wire brace.
  17. My favourite Astrix story.
  18. Very tight. I know £15 isn't much, it was just the principle that postage was three times as much as the goods. I'm ok at the moment as Jonsie sent me the last of what he had, so just enquiring for future needs really.
  19. Just searched for tanaka reviews and quite a few of them are saying that bits break on them the the quality of the cutters aren't hat good. What are you trying to palm off on me.
  20. I'm thinking along the same lines, either Makita, Echo or possibly a Kawasaki hedge-trimmer. Have just looked at the Husky 128LDX but for the power unit and various attachments that i would want, it would be well over £1000.
  21. Yeah, forgot about that - none of the switches on the hand held blowers that i have ever owner have
  22. I've had enough. I'm not going to buy anything by Stihl again until they pick up the ball that they have well and truly dropped. Now 3 of the 4 stihl hedgetrimmers that i own will not work. To my knowledge there are faults of various sorts with: Anything 4-mix MS201T MS261 MS660 I've also had problems with the chain-brake on the 441 and ignition module on an new HL75. Add to the list as you want. There will soon be two km100's and a HS86R going on ebay, but a warning to any viewing Arbtalkers not to bid on them - there crap!
  23. Yeah, did try a couple of GM dealers; first one wouldn't even pick up their phone, the second would have to charge me £15 p&p - on a few bolts!
  24. Just changed the blades on my Greenmech CS100 minichipper. Trashed a few blade bolts getting them off so need to know where people get their bolts from? And also Who to use to resharpen the blades? I use rotatech(SaturnMK) for my timberwolf blades but i have not been happy with a couple of sets that have come back recently and i hear that the angle on the cs100 blades needs on be spot on.
  25. It seems to be the tappet settings not staying put, spud may be able to elaborate. Not really had many problems with the attachments although them to seat properly in he coupling can sometimes be a pain in the arse.
