  1. If the internal parts of the side casing are reusable then just buy the plastic side and then swop the parts. Cost then is about £25.
  2. You can try SmallPlantBreakers - google it. Good luck trying to find s/h brake cover. When I occasionally see them on ebay they go for far too much. Complete unit new is about £60-70 i think.
  3. I'm more than happy will all of the Stein gear that i've purchased to date from PPE to the Arbtrolly. I purchased the minireach last weekend. Haven't used it yet but i'm sure that it will be worth the money. However, i would like to complain about the 60p gloves that broke to pieces when I was feeding brush into the chipper!
  4. Do the level 3. Short courses are good but basically the tickets are courses to teach you how to do a specific operation without killing yourself or others. The level 3 will teach about the trees and how best to treat them and so IMO will make you a much better tree surgeon.
  5. Thanks David, it's one in a row of 20ish on a small bank that road fronts a churchyard. They are all around the 12metre mark although I will have to Pollard the one next to this Yew as one of it's co-dom stems has fractured and so it will make a bit of a gap in the row.
  6. Is this an old Laetiporus? I believe it's the first year that it's shown itself. Will probably just recommend reduction unless any of you knowledgable people scream FELL IT! Cheers, Ed.
  7. Hi Tom, I've had problems trying to do this in the past. I think this is how to do it - you have to be in the "Forum" tab at the bottom of the page, then choose which category that you want to start the tread in. Once you have done that click the symbol in the top/right of the page (box with arrow coming out), in he dropdown menu there will be an option that i think is call Start Topic. Ed.
  8. It was there on the Saturday in the far corner of the show next to Peter with the Protippers. You have to look for the Arbtalk gazebo or listen for the sound of the thud as the axe hits ......the ground.
  9. Rules and target set up can be found here: http://www.gransfors.com/htm_eng/yxkastning/index.html
  10. I think that's me in the axe throwing pic. Big respect Justin for your effort and determination to put on this show on.
  11. Looking forward to it already. Dan's far to talented at anything he try's - we're going to have to introduce handicaps.
  12. I'd go with wellys - if i had any.
  13. A few miles from Peterborough but google AWO Bedford at Ramsey Heights. £10 a load.

    oh my god

OMG thats grim. Really brings it home to you why you should never work alone. Poor guy. Slightly foreseeable to an experienced tree surgeon tho.
  15. It could clearly be seen on Paul's face how gutted he was to have to make that decision. I've camped in the rain plenty but i certainly wouldn't of camped in that field - i'm glad there was room at the inn.
  16. That zoom in of the bat is wicked. Stickhorn with the flys is cool too. Here's a few that i took with the pad.
  17. Yeah, the event is only postponed. Paul will update this tread later this evening.
  18. I'm here with hama. The AA team here just made the decision 10 minutes ago.
  19. To much rain. Marquees have two inches of standing water inside. More info to follow.
  20. Becoming a big problem in Cambridge, especially for the Colleges as the larvae burrow under the turf and then the birds rip up the lawn to get to the grubs.
  21. PeteB for prime minister! No, PeteB for Dictator! ( nothing wrong with a good dictatorship)
  22. Practice has now commenced - bring on the Jones show!
  23. Fairly easy using tapatalk. When you touch the reply box and the keypad appears, just above the keypad to the right there are four symbols, one will let you attach a picture that you take with the camera and another will let you attach a previous picture from your camera roll.
  24. Top job guys, well done. Was thinking about you guys as i watched the wind blowing the trees around today. I had my phone close by today in case you needed anything. I'll admit to being the one who emailed Lookeast. Thought it might be cool for you guys and Arbtalk. Rich, i can take delivery of Marin's pint for him:)
  25. I asked the ladies in the AA tent last Saturday. Haven't sent anything out yet but will do soon.
